  A boy born without a brain amazes doctors all around the world as he turned two recently even though no one believed he would survive a day, Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK. Aaron was born with an incredibly rare condition known as holoprosencephaly, which is considered to be incompatible with life. It means that the boy does not have a full brain but only a brain stem which allows him to breathe, see, hear and move. But that’s it. Aaron’s parents were said to prepare for their son to pass away soon but it seems the boy had other plans. His mother Emma said: “When Aaron was first born, I was told there was no way he could survive. I was told he might live for three minutes, three hours or three days.

  A plane caught fire at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida airport today, sending passengers fleeing for their lives out of the aircraft's emergency slides. The plane was engulfed in thick black flames before airport firefighters came and extinguished the fire.   Nollywood producer Egor Efiok is set to receive the Hollywood Weekly Magazine Film Festival Award of Excellence this Sunday, November 1 st , 2015. The award will be given during a festival holding at the Dick Clark Screening Room in Santa Monica, California. During the festival there will be screenings of “Beyond Blood” by Nollywood Director Greg Odutayo and “Unge’s War” produced by Bernard Kawaja and co-produced by Egor Efiok. These will be the first Nigerian films ever to be screened at the film festival in the presence of the cream of Hollywood right in the heart of Rodeo Drive. The event will be attended by several people including Nollywood actor, Hon. Desmond Elliot, KD Aubert, Ebbe Bassey, Ernie Hudson, Todd Bridges, Missy Elliott, Chante Moore, Meagan Good and more.

  Details have emerged in the tragic killing of Beauty Nnenna Macleod, the mother of 14-year Nigerian junior tennis champ Angel Macleod. It is simply shocking that the person responsible for the death of the single mum is a Nigerian Police officer. The incident took place on Monday 26th October 2015 at the Emperor’s Place (also known as the Emperor’s Guest House) in Victoria Island, Lagos. The deceased who is said to have moved back to Nigeria from Dubai with her daughter just last year was staying at the guest house and stepped out to visit a shopping mall in the company of her friend.

  A Nigeria Customs Service officer and his wife have been arrested for allegedly buying a set of 4-day old twins  for N500,000 in Sango Ota, Ogun State. The officer, identified as Azeez, and his wife were arrested on Thursday last week, and the babies were recovered, Punch reports. A police source says Azeez confessed. The officer stated:

  The Police today charged three teenagers, Elijah Adebowale, Suleiman Balogun and Shefiu Adam before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over the alleged gang rape of a 13 year old girl. The boys aged (15), (16) and (14) respectively, all reside at the Iju area of Lagos. They are being tried on a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor.

 

  A Kenyan woman, Ms Rose Adhiambo and her house help, Doris Akinyi, have been arrested for allegedly hiring an assassin to murder the woman’s husband, Mr Polycarp Okumu. The man, a Mombasa based tycoon took the wife to court because he believes that she committed the said act so that she can inherit his wealth. According to Linda Ikeji, Dominic Kiptum, the Police Constable investigating the matter, told a Mombasa court that the suspects and their accomplices conspired to carry out their devious plan between October 20 and 26.

  The police in Ekiti state on Thursday, October 29, arraigned a 75-year old- James Adeniran, alongside three others in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ court for alleged conspiracy and possession of human head. The alleged accomplices of the 75-year-old are: Tope Omoleye-19, Femi Ajayi-20, and Dada Owoeye-45. Caleb Leramo, the prosecutor, told the court that the accused persons on Tuesday, October 27, conspired and unlawfully had in their possession the head of one late Peter Ajayi at Iloro-Ekiti, Ijero local government area.

China have announced the end of its hugely controversial one-child policy today, with official state media confirming that all couples will now be allowed to have two children. A communique was issued by the ruling Communist Party following a four-day meeting in Beijing to chart the country's plans for the next five years. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on Thursday said it would give N2.25trillion ($10billion) concessional lines of credit to Nigeria and 53 other African nations in the next five years to boost their economy. He also said additional grant assistance of N135billion ($600m) will be made available to African countries by India. Modi, who made the disclosures in an address at the opening of the Plenary Session of the Third India-Africa Forum Summit in New Delhi, said the credit lines are necessary because Africa is now joining the global mainstream of innovation.

  Students of IMG Secondary School, Oke Ado, Ibadan, on Wednesday, expressed outrage after their colleague was allegedly flogged to death by a teacher. The yet-to-be identified student reportedly slumped and died following severe punishment from a teacher for arriving late to school. Some properties of the school were destroyed by the students before policemen arrived at the scene. Chairs and tables, cabinets were destroyed by the protesting students, even as they scattered documents. Windows and doors of the staff room were also vandalized.

  Fresh from rehab Nigeria born reggae legend, Majek Fashek, is speaking up for mentally retarded people.  Speaking at a conference titled “Mental Health as a Driver for Positive Change” the rainmaker stressed that mental health is very important in the lives of people and nation. Fashek noted that mentally ill people also have great potentials and talents. Fashek said was a guest at the 46th Annual General Conference and Scientific Meeting of the Association of Psychiatrists in Nigeria (APN) in Lagos on Wednesday, October 28. Fashek said that mentally ill people should not be written off.

  When Karen Gilbert found out that she was pregnant with extremely rare identical triplets, she was stunned and delighted. But doctors took a different view of her one-in-200 million pregnancy. They twice gave her an advise to terminate it, because of the three foetuses could take each other’s fluid and space and might not survive. But Mrs Gilbert and her husband Ian decided to save their three little girls. At last, Ffion, Maddison and Paige were born two months early on August 2.
