The man, a Mombasa based tycoon took the wife to court because he believes that she committed the said act so that she can inherit his wealth.
According to Linda Ikeji, Dominic Kiptum, the Police Constable investigating the matter, told a Mombasa court that the suspects and their accomplices conspired to carry out their devious plan between October 20 and 26.
The man popularly referred to as Kamili, also alleged that he caught his
wife red handed withdrawing Ksh 1.2 million at Kenyan Commercial Bank,
Naivas Branch in Nyali, with which she wanted to settle the assassins to
complete the process.Unfortunately, luck ran out on her as she was nabbed during her
conversation with the killers to strike a deal on where and when to pick
up the money.
Reports say it was not the first time she had planned to execute her
husband as he was said to have survived food poisoning from the same
woman.
The case was adjourned to November 9 after the suspects were remanded in prison custody.
