Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has cheekily revealed his plans
for the January transfer window following the raft of injuries affecting
the club.
The club is facing a mini-injury crisis with the likes of
Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin (injured at the weekend), Danny Welbeck,
Theo Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain, Tomas Rosicky all missing for the
club.
The Gunners were defeated 2 – 1 by West Brom and lost defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin to injury.Speaking to reporters, Wenger suggested he could buy in January.
He said: “I’ll do what’s needed in January even though in January it is not an ideal transfer market,” Wenger told reporters.
On Coquelin’s injury, Wenger told Arsenal.com: “It is at least a month. I’m a bit cautious as we have had so many bad surprises on the scans… but the team for the next few months will be without Coquelin.”
Wenger also suggested he could be forced to Calum Chambers in midfield against Dinamo in their upcoming UEFA Champions League game.
Arsenal face Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions league clash to be played on Tuesday October 23. If Arsenal defeated, they would be out of the group stages of this season’s champions league.
