  A Judge in Miami-Dade County of Florida has ordered the arrest of former NFL star, Antonio Brown, over unpaid child support.    The judge issued the order on April 14 after it was reported that Brown allegedly ducked payments that he had been required to make to his ex, Wiltrice Jackson .   TMZ reported that Broward County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday, April 21, that they've received the order. It was also stated that Brown can be released from custody if he pays $30,000 which the Florida judge ruled is to be applied to his unpaid child support.   Brown and Jackson dated during the former Pittsburgh Steelers star's early football playing days and had a daughter together.   Their relationship, however, had more than its fair share of ups and downs -- with Jackson accusing Brown of shoving her during a domestic dispute in 2019. Brown was never charged over the claim.  

Hon. Ismail Maihanci who is a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has died. His demise was disclosed by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter this morning April 22.    Posting via his handle, Bashir wrote ''Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus. Family sources say the politician who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP died in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, after a brief illness.   May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Rapper GloRilla and her producer Macaroni Toni have been sued by an artist who claimed that they sampled his nearly 30-year-old track to create her gold-selling single "Tomorrow".    Ivory Paynes of the NOLA-based rap group Dog House Posse is claiming Glo and Toni sampled his 1994 song "Street of the Westbank" to craft “Tomorrow”, claiming it takes key elements from his song, like the piano, cello and drum tracks. According to Paynes, they never got his permission.    Glo's record home Collective Music Group and her publishing companies Warner Chappell Music and Sony/ATV Music are also named in the suit.   TMZ reported that her remix "Tomorrow 2" which features Cardi B is also listed, as that track also utilizes the same instrumental. Cardi is not listed as a defendant in the case.

Saida Mouh, the mother of PSG defender Achraf Hakimi, has finally reacted to the reports making the rounds that her son transferred all his assets to her.   Recall that an unverified report went viral claiming that Hakimi’s wife will not be getting anything in their divorce because it was discovered that Hakimi has no asset in his name as all are in his mother’s name. Reacting, Hakimi’s mother said it is also news to her because she has no idea.   “If he has taken any action to protect himself, I’m unaware of it,” Morocco World News quoted Hakimi’s mother as saying.   She added that if it is true, there is nothing wrong with her son taking such actions to protect himself.   “What’s the problem if the news is true? If my son does not do this, he will not be able to get rid of that woman [Hiba Abouk],” Hakimi’s mother said.  

A 300-year-old Ekebergia capensis , commonly known as the Cape Ash ( Teldet in Kalenjin) tree, considered to be sacred to the Kalenjin community, has fallen in Aldai, Nandi County of Kenya.  The multi-trunked tree was used to conduct prayers in the previous years before the establishment of St Peter's Koyo ACK Church in Nandi . One of the community elders, Charles Kering said;    "The tree is estimated to be as old as 300 years and considered home to spirits as our forefathers used to conduct spiritual services there. We do not know what really happened to it, we just heard a loud bang in the morning at 6 am after its fall."    While some residents of the community feel the fallen tree signifies a new crop of leadership following the death of former President Daniel Arap Moi, others feel that the fall signified the consequences of failing to respect the old.   Religious leaders however believed that the tree was "just old" and had outlived its stre...

An Argentine appeals court on Tuesday, April 18, confirmed that eight medical professionals accused of responsibility in the death of football legend Diego Maradona will face trial. Among those accused are a psychologist, a clinical doctor, a medical coordinator, nursing coordinator and nurses.   Maradona died in November 2020 aged 60 while recovering from brain surgery for a blood clot, and after decades of battles with cocaine and alcohol addictions.   He was found dead in bed two weeks after undergoing surgery, in a rented house in an exclusive Buenos Aires neighborhood where he was brought after being discharged from hospital. He was found to have died of a heart attack. Neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov and six others had appealed a 2022 decision to put them on trial for homicide with potential aggravating circumstances.   India is on its way to become the most populous country in the world, overtaking China with almost three million more people in the middle of this year, according to United Nations on Wednesday, April 19.   The demographic data from the United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) “State of World Population Report, 2023” estimates India’s population at 1,428.6 million or 1.4286 billion against 1.4257 billion for China. According to the latest data, the United States is a distant third, with an estimated population of 340 million.
