House of Reps member-elect dies weeks to his swearing-in

Hon. Ismail Maihanci who is a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has died. His demise was disclosed by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter this morning April 22. 

 

Posting via his handle, Bashir wrote

''Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus.

Family sources say the politician who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP died in the early hours of Saturday, April 22, after a brief illness.

 

May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

New CIA document reveals Osama bin Laden was plotting terror attack on Britain before 9/11

  Newly declassified CIA documents show that US intelligence officials believed Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were considering attacks on the United Kingdom several years before the September 11, 2001, attacks. The documents were released by the CIA to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and include intelligence assessments dating from the late 1990s. Among them is an August 28, 1998, briefing titled “Bin Ladin Terrorist Network Still a Threat”, which indicated that bin Laden was considering further attacks against both the United States and the UK.
