Rapper G-Eazy has been arrested after a brawl outside the Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel in New York City around 12:50 a.m. Friday September 10.  While TMZ reported earlier that G-Eazy was named as a suspect in a police report with no arrest made, PageSix and People have reported that he was arrested and charged with assault and issued a desk appearance ticket for both arrests. He’ll go before a judge at a later date. Though he is currently not in custody, the New York Police Department confirmed that a 32-year-old man was punched and suffered redness and swelling to the head, but refused medical attention. A 29-year-old male was also punched. The recent incident comes after G-Eazy was convicted of assault, drug possession and resisting arrest following a nightclub brawl in 2018.

Football legend, Pele has been moved out of intensive care as the Brazil football great continues his recovery from surgery . The 80-year-old three-time World Cup winner has been in the Alberto Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo since doctors removed a tumour from his colon earlier this month. However, he confirmed in a post on Instagram that he has now left intensive care and even joked that he was now ready to play '90 minutes and extra time!'   He said: 'My friends, this is a message for each of you. Don't think for a minute that I haven't read the thousands of loving messages I've received around here. Enyimba FC have unveiled former Nigeria international, Finidi George, as their new head coach. In a social media post on Wednesday, the club confirmed the appointment with the caption, “How great is it to have a legend as an Elephant”.     The former Ajax and Real Betis winger, who replaces Fatai Osho whose contract expired at the end of August, joined the eight times Nigerian champions on a two-year contract. The eight-time Nigerian champions finished second in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). This means George and his team will play in the CAF Champions League next season. George, a legend of Nigeria’s men’s senior national team, made 62 appearances for the Super Eagles during his illustrious playing career that lasted up to fifteen years. He a member of the squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and represented the country at two FIFA World Cups – the 1994 and 1998 editions.

A Nigerian tech expert, David Gbodi Odaibo has reportedly died in his sleep, 7 days after winning a $125 million (approximately N69billion) U.S government contract.  His brother and CEO of Retina-AI Health Incorporation, Mr. Stephen Odaibo narrated how he died in a post shared on LinkedIn.  Stephen said his brother who was fully vaccinated and did not have COVID-19, had a cardiac arrhythmia/heart attack in his sleep and passed on at the age of 42.   Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state has signed anti-open grazing bill into law.  Udom assented to the bill after it was presented to him by Attorney General of the State, Uko Udom, in the presence of the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Aniekan Bassey at the Government House in Uyo. Akwa Ibom now joins Rivers, Bayelsa, Oyo, Ekiti, Abia, Lagos and Enugu as states with anti-open grazing legislation. It is the eighth state in southern Nigeria to enact the law. Relevant authorities of government have been directed to ensure the law is enforced in the state by Governor Udom who also stated that culprits must be brought to book.

Nicki Minaj has received heat from all angles after she made a claim about a potential side effect of the Covid-19 vaccine.  Nicki said her cousin's friend in Trinidad became impotent after taking the Covid-19 vaccine and, as a result, his fiancee called off their wedding. Nicki then told her fans not to be bullied into taking the vaccine.     Her tweet quickly went viral and led to a number of people calling her out.
