  A suspicious package containing 'white powder' has been discovered near Jacinda Ardern's office, sparking major concern with fire department rushing to the scene.  The mysterious envelope addressed to the New Zealand prime minister, was reportedly found one floor below where she was working on Monday September 13. She was working on level nine of New Zealand's parliamentary precinct ahead of a cabinet meeting on the floor above.  The package was collected in the mailroom of level eight of the 'Beehive', the executive wing of the government building, according to Mail Online. The security scare sparked a response from three specialist units, including a hazardous material truck that was parked at the rear of the parliament building.      A spokesman for Ardern confirmed it's not an explosive but precautions are being taken nonetheless. British actress, Tanya Fear has been reported missing in southern California. Fear, best known for her appearance in an episode of  Doctor  in 2018, was last seen on Thursday,September, 9, when her family reported her missing to Los Angeles police, her manager Alex Cole said. News of the disappearance surfaced on Sunday September 12, after author Bolu Babalola shared a missing poster for Tanya. “My friend Tanya has gone missing in the LA/Hollywood Bowl area. American rapper A Boogie With Da Hoodie was arrested at the Wireless festival in London over the weekend. Organisers cancelled his performance as the rapper, 25, was arrested before he was due to go on stage at the star-studded festival in Crystal Palace Park. On Sunday, the rapper broke his silence to apologise to his fans and explained what has happened. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Pa Owere Dickson Imasogie, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo South Senatorial district. He was said to have been abducted alongside his driver and another person, whose identity had not been ascertained, at the Benin-Agbor highway in the early hours of Monday, September 13.  It was gathered that Pa Imasogie was on his way to one of his farms when the gunmen struck.  A group known as “Edo State Decide Movement” confirmed the abduction in a statement and urged Governor Godwin Obaseki to, as matter of urgency, “take a drastic action as to rescue the father to all and others from the hands of the hoodlums or kidnappers who are enemies of progress in our dear state.” Imasogie is a commercial farmer who owns large farmlands.

Eight people have lost their lives to COVID-19, while 365 others have been infected within the last 24 hours in Nigeria. The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC), confirmed this in its daily update about the pandemic in the country. This brings Nigerian’s COVID-19 caseload to 199,151. Statistics from the NCDC indicates that Lagos has 209 of the new cases, followed by Ondo with 88, FCT-31, Rivers-16, Ebonyi-11, Kaduna-6, Ekiti-3, while Plateau recorded 1 case.  186,418 treated cases have been discharged, while the death toll is now 2,598.
