Rapper Drake's team denies stealing 'Janice STFU' chorus as they claim lawsuit is a money grab

Drake has denied allegations that he copied the chorus of “Janice STFU” from producer Aviel Calev Hirschfield, who has filed a lawsuit against the rapper. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Hirschfield, professionally known as Avi, alleges that he recorded the hook in January 2026 and sent it to producers who had worked with Drake.

He claims the song released by Drake in May contained the same lyrics and melody. Hirschfield said he supplied timestamped audio files to support his claim but was refused songwriting credit or a share of the profits. A representative for Drake rejected the allegations.

“These allegations are categorically, unequivocally, and completely denied. There is not one iota of truth to these accusations,” the representative told TMZ. The representative described the lawsuit, filed on Friday, as a “manufactured and baseless attempt” to use Drake’s name and success to obtain money and publicity.

“Drake wrote this song and has no connection or knowledge of this person full stop,” the representative added. The allegations have not been determined by a court.
