Asisat Oshoala helps Super Falcons bounce back with 1-0 win over Zambia

 

The Super Falcons recovered from their shock defeat against Malawi to edge Zambia 1-0 at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Saturday.


It was a crucial three points for the defending champions. The game's decisive goal arrived early when Asisat Oshoala struck in the 8th minute for Justin Madugu’s side, who were later reduced to 10 players before the half-time break.

Nigeria now needs a victory against Egypt in their final group fixture to guarantee a spot in the knockout stages. The North Africans have yet to record a win in the competition following a 2-0 loss to Group C leaders, Malawi.

New CIA document reveals Osama bin Laden was plotting terror attack on Britain before 9/11

  Newly declassified CIA documents show that US intelligence officials believed Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were considering attacks on the United Kingdom several years before the September 11, 2001, attacks. The documents were released by the CIA to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and include intelligence assessments dating from the late 1990s. Among them is an August 28, 1998, briefing titled “Bin Ladin Terrorist Network Still a Threat”, which indicated that bin Laden was considering further attacks against both the United States and the UK.
