A mum who was on the run after allegedly killing her two children during a custody battle has been arrested in the UK.

Kimberlee Singler, 35, initially cooperated with police when they began investigating the deaths that occurred on December 19. However, she soon disappeared, according to authorities in the US.

The mum was reportedly caught in an undisclosed location in the UK and has now been taken into custody “without incident”.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said they will reveal more in a press conference, which has yet to be scheduled. They did not share any more details about her arrest or the charges against her.

It comes after she allegedly killed her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son, and tried to kill her 11-year-old daughter, according to cops in her native Colorado.

The deaths of the children occurred during an ongoing legal dispute between Singler and her ex-husband, according to court documents.

Police responded to a 911 call about a burglary at an apartment complex in the early hours of December 19. They discovered the bodies of Singler's daughter and son.

Singler and her eleven-year-old daughter were also found injured and were taken to hospital.

Details about how the children or Singler were injured have not been released. The eleven-year-old girl was in hospital for a few days before being discharged.

She is now recovering well physically in Colorado Springs and is not with her mother, said Ira Cronin from the Colorado Springs Police Department. Singler's injuries were minor.

Cronin did not disclose whether Singler had reported the burglary herself. The FBI had been assisting local police in their search for Singler, confirmed Vikki Migoya, a spokesperson for the agency's Denver office.
