  The US military has shot down another unidentified object that it says flew near sensitive military sites and could have been used for spying. The object was shot over Lake Huron in Michigan at 2.42pm local time on Sunday, February 12 on President Biden's orders.  A US F-16 jet fired a missile at about 20,000ft amid concerns that its altitude and flight path could endanger civilian planes.     It is the fourth incident in just over a week and the third in as many days - after objects were shot down in Alaska and Canada on Friday and Saturday. A Pentagon officials have reportedly described the latest object as having "an octagonal structure with strings hanging off but no discernible payload".  On Friday 4 February, the US military downed a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the Carolina coast after it said had traversed sensitive military sites across North America. Former Brighton Hove Albion manager, Chris Hughton has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana's Black Stars, the country's football association (GFA) have announced. Hughton was assistant to Otto Addo and was part of the Black Stars coaching crew to 2022 World Cup in Qatar. According to the Ghana FA, he will be assisted by George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani. The statement from the GFA on Sunday night, February 13 reads: The Ghana Football Association has the pleasure to appoint Chris Hughton as Head Coach of the Black Stars following extensive deliberations between the two parties. The appointment is in line with the vision of the GFA to continue with the project of building a formidable squad that started with Otto Addo in the lead up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament. David Trugoy The Dove Jolicoeur, a member of the hip-hop trio De La Soul, has died at the age of 54. His passing was confirmed by his management team, All Hip-Hop first reported.   Jolicoeur's official cause of death has not been announced but the rap pioneer had been open about his struggles with congestive heart failure over the past few years.   The veteran performer was with the group since it launched in Amityville, Long Island, circa 1988. The group was formed with his two friends from high school, fellow rappers Posdnuos and Maseo.     De La Soul caught the attention of record producer Prince Paul when they recorded their first demo called Plug Tunin. Prince Paul ended up recording their first three albums, according to  Okay Player.   The group's first breakthrough album was titled 3 Feet High and Rising, and debuted in 1989. Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that he does not believe in the quality of decisions taken by those around around President Muhammadu Buhari.  The Kaduna state Governor dropped the bombshell ahead of the 2023 election, in an interview with Premium Times. El-Rufai said; he does not believe in the quality of decisions taken by those around   around President Muhammadu Buhari.  I believe in Buhari, I still do and I will never stop, but I no longer believe in the circle around him and the quality of decisions and actions coming out of that leadership.

The Turkish government has arrested and started legal proceedings against contractors allegedly linked with buildings that collapsed in the deadly February 6 earthquakes which has now claimed over 33,000 lives in Turkey and neighboring Syria. The death toll from the magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 quakes that struck nine hours apart in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria rose to 33,185 and is certain to increase as search teams find more bodies.  The death toll in Syria's northwestern rebel-held region has reached 2,166, according to the rescue group, the White Helmets. The overall death toll in Syria stood at 3,553 on Saturday, although the 1,387 deaths reported for government-held parts of the country hadn't been updated in days. Rihanna is pregnant with her second baby. The 34-year-old singer revealed the big news as she performed at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime.     The proud mother-to-be took the stage dressed head-to-toe in bright red, revealing a baby bump, and becoming the first pregnant woman to star in the halftime show.     During the performance of her song "B**** Better Have My Money," the singer rubbed her stomach on stage in front of delighted attendees.   A rep for the singer has since confirmed to CBS News that she is pregnant with baby number two.  The Grammy winner and her beau, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child in May 2022.
