Ronnie Wilson, a founding member of the popular funk and R&B group the Gap Band alongside his brothers Charlie Wilson and Robert Wilson, has died.   Ronnie’s wife Linda Boulware-Wilson confirmed the news to TMZ, saying he died Tuesday morning, November 2, after suffering a stroke last week.    In a statement, Boulware-Wilson called him a “genius with creating, producing and playing the flugelhorn, trumpet, keyboards and singing music.” He was 73.   Ronnie and his brothers, Charlie and Robert Wilson, formed The Gap Band back in the 1970s in Tulsa.   The Gap Band’s first album  Magicians Holiday  was released in 1974. Their biggest records arrived in the early 1980s.  Gap Band III  from 1980 featured “Burn Rubber on Me,” while 1982’s  Gap Band IV  included “You Dropped a Bomb on Me” and “Outstanding.”     The band remained prolific throughout the ’80s and released multiple ...

Jay-Z has officially joined Instagram.    On Tuesday, November 2, the Hip Hop billionaire shocked many as he joined Instagram and followed just one person, his wife Beyoncé.     So far, his account has already amassed over 1 million followers with just one post. The photo is about his new Western film,  The Harder They Fall,  which he produced for Netflix. The film’s soundtrack includes two collaborations between JAY-Z and Kid Cudi as well as Conway The Machine and Jadakiss.    

A newly wedded mum’s body was found dumped in a suitcase just four days after her wedding. The woman, named locally as Dawn Walker, was found dead in Lightcliffe, West Yorkshire, yesterday. Devastated friends said Dawn had only just got married. A 45-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her. He remains in police custody and police are not actively seeking any further suspects in connection with Dawn’s death. A close friend told YorkshireLive that Dawn was a kind, caring and friendly woman as well as a mother to a little boy.   The friend, who asked not to be named, said Dawn’s body had been discovered hidden in a suitcase on a grassed area near Aysgarth Avenue and Nunlea Royd which has been cordoned off by police since. “She got married on Wednesday and died on Sunday morning,” the friend added. “Dawn was a sound woman. Footage has emerged appearing to show ex-first lady Melania Trump smiling with husband Donald Trump before her expression quickly drops to apparent disgust. The couple were spotted during the Atlanta Braves World Series game against the Houston Astros on Saturday.  It was the first time Melania had been seen in public since July, when she was seen leaving the Trump Tower in New York. And before the weekend’s appearance she hadn’t been seen with her husband since April, when she dined with him at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.   An Enugu State High Court on Tuesday convicted and sentenced a former Branch Manager of the Sterling Bank Plc, Market Road, Enugu, Mr Anidiobi Chukwuka, to eight years’ imprisonment for stealing and fraud. The trial judge, Justice Cyprian Ajah, convicted Chukwuma of all the 32 counts levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The bank manager was arraigned before the court for stealing and converting to personal use the sum of N219m belonging to customers of Ohha Microfinance Bank Limited, Enugu, kept in a fixed deposit account with Sterling Bank Plc, its corresponding bank.   Counsel for the microfinance bank, Mr Olu Omotayo, who briefed journalists shortly after the judgement, said Chukwuka committed the offence between August 15, 2014 and November 16, 2017. The World Bank says Nigeria has so far borrowed $3.121 billion (?1,126.68 trillion at USD/?361), from China as at March 2020, an amount which  represents only 3.94 per cent of Nigeria’s total public debt of $79.21 billion as of September 2021.   Similarly, in terms of external sources of funds, loans from China accounted for 11.28 per cent of the External Debt Stock of USD27.67 billion as of the same date.   According to the World Bank, the total borrowing from China of USD 3.121 billion as of March 31, 2020, are concessional loans with interest rates of 2.50 per cent per annum with a tenor of 20 years and a grace period (moratorium) of seven years.   ‘These terms are compliant with the provisions of Section 41 (1a) of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007. Anonymous persons behind a  Squid Game  cryptocurrency have officially made away off with an estimated $3.38 million. The cryptocurrency inspired by  Squid Game  peaked at a price of $2,861 before plummeting to $0 around 5:40 a.m. ET., according to the website CoinMarketCap. After jumping more than 310,000% in value as of Sunday night, Squid lost all its value after Twitter flagged the cryptocurrency’s account and temporarily restricted it due to “suspicious activity”. Before its collapse, the token’s value had spiked to $2,851. The token’s website and social accounts have disappeared, along with a white paper describing Squid. The token was made available for purchase on 20 October with the idea that the cryptocurrency would be a pay-to-play token to play an online game, inspired by Squid Game, the hit series in which heavily indebted people play deadly versions of children’s games to win cash. A fully vaccinated passenger infected with coronavirus was found dead in his seat inside a flight.  The Pegasus Airlines crew found the 51-year-old man lifeless in his seat after Flight 1043 from Istanbul, Turkey, to Hamburg, Germany, last week. The man, who was born in Russia and lived in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, was reportedly travelling on an Airbus 320 when he passed away during the flight. While an official cause of the man's death is not confirmed yet, local reports have suggested he had suffered from a number of serious prior illnesses, which were not specified. The Airbus A320 operated by Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines had taken off from Istanbul and landed at its destination at around 1 pm on Monday, October 25.   Forensic pathologists performed a postmortem on the body and concluded that the man had probably died mid-flight. On Tuesday, the 29-year-old rapper and mother of two shared the news on Instagram that she's purchased a home in New York City. To celebrate finally having a house of her own in her 'home city,' she posted a photo of herself posing inside the new property.
