Bandits kill 10 in Zamfara

10 people have been killed after a bandit attack in Janbako community of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State. 

It was learnt that local vigilantes withstood the bandits who invaded the community by 10.30 am yesterday January 17.

5 out of the 10 people killed were said to be the vigilantes, and four other people were also injured. An eyewitness told The Nation; 

 

“Bandits shot and killed 10 innocent people during the attack while four people sustained gunshot wounds in the village."

 

Residents of the community appealed to the state and federal governments to deploy more security personnel to the area.

New CIA document reveals Osama bin Laden was plotting terror attack on Britain before 9/11

  Newly declassified CIA documents show that US intelligence officials believed Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were considering attacks on the United Kingdom several years before the September 11, 2001, attacks. The documents were released by the CIA to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and include intelligence assessments dating from the late 1990s. Among them is an August 28, 1998, briefing titled “Bin Ladin Terrorist Network Still a Threat”, which indicated that bin Laden was considering further attacks against both the United States and the UK.
