    The government of the Netherlands has returned a unique terracotta head to the Nigerian Embassy in the Netherlands in compliance with the 1970 UNESCO Convention of prohibiting and preventing illicit import, export of cultural property. The unique and rare terracotta head, believed to be from Ile-Ife in Nigeria, was intercepted by Dutch Customs at Schiphol Airport in 2018 in a package addressed to a Dutch national with forged accompanying import documents. Nigerian authorities confirmed the authenticity of the object and formally requested for its return.

    Wife of a victim of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) brutality, Mrs Chidinmma Precious Edozieuno has recounted to the Anambra Judicial panel on activities of the unit and how men of the unit took away her husband in 2017 and told her to kiss him goodbye. Mrs Edozieuno who petitioned the panel and also appeared for testimony prayed the panel to give her reasonable compensation for the loss of her husband and properties. She told journalists in an interview that her husband, a businessman who lived in Benin Republic, Mr Johnson Edozienu had returned to Nigeria to visit her and her newborn baby when he was taken away by SARS officials.     Kate Ferdinand has hit back at online trolls who slated her for saying that her husband Rio and his late wife Rebecca's children were her "family".   Students of Abia State University have been asked to pay a 'pandemic prevention fee' ahead of the school's resumption on Monday November 9.  In the notice signed by the school's Registrar Acho Elendu, students were asked to pay a 'pandemic prevention fee' of N15,000 and also register all their course in order to be eligible to participate in examinations.  Facebook user, Ebube Jessica who shared a photo of the notice wrote;    I don't know if I should laugh or cry?   The Chinese authorities have issued fresh travel restrictions into China by Nigerians and other nationals in Nigeria holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits. A public notice issued by the Embassy of China and Consulate in Nigeria today November 5, states that the decision was based on the COVID19 concerns in Nigeria.   Unknown gunmen, on Wednesday, killed a 40-year-old trader identified as Olanrewaju Oladapo in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. It was gathered that the deceased, who specialised in the sales of recharge cards and provisions at Dallimore area of Ado-Ekiti was shot dead at about 9.45 pm on Wednesday, November 4, on his way home from work.  According to a resident of the area, who identified himself as Olatunji, the assailants traced the deceased to his house behind Jone Jane Hospital, Dalimore, Ado Ekiti, where he was ambushed and killed at the main entrance.   Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has disclosed that he nearly cried seeing the level of destruction in Lagos following the violence that erupted during the #EndSARS crisis.  The Kaduna State Governor agreed that expressing anger over issues is the right thing for people to do, but he faulted the destruction of public properties, describing the recent incidents in the south-western state as a setback.   Police busted a drug racket and arrested four Nigerian nationals from Nalasopara, Mumbai with 747 gram high-grade cocaine worth Rs1.49 crore (N5,699,250,000) The accused identified as Agu Osita (28), Urji Phillips (30), Ogona Chukwene (29) and Chris Ajah Chukweneka (30) were arrested on Monday and produced before the Vasai sessions court on Tuesday, November 3. According to police sources, senior police inspector DS Patil had received information that some Nigerians would be coming to sell cocaine in Pragati Nagar area of Nalasopara (east).
