Manuel Baum has been sacked by Schalke after failing to win any of his 10 Bundesliga games in charge.
The 41-year-old was brought in September to replace former Huddersfield boss David Wagner, who went 18 games without a win and lost his job. Baun did little to change Schalke's fortunes and only extended their winless games to 28.
Following a 0-2 defeat against Freiburg in mid-week, 'The Royal Blues' have lost patience with Baum, who failed to win a Bundesliga game in 10 attempts.
"The home game against Arminia Bielefeld is hugely important for our club. The disappointing performance against SC Freiburg showed us that the side requires new impetus to be successful in this game. We trust Huub Stevens and Mike Büskens to do exactly that. We thank Manuel Baum for his tireless work and wish him both personally and professionally the best for the future," said Schalke 04 head of sport Jochen Schneider.
Schalke are winless in 28 league games and sit bottom of the table with just four points after 12 games.
