  Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday confirmed that another Chibok schoolgirl has been found, barely 12 days after the release of the 82 abducted girls by their captors. Femi Adesina , the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who made this known to State House correspondents in Abuja, said the recovery of the girl was announced by the acting president during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday. According to him, the affected girl has been brought to Abuja to join her colleagues who were rescued from captivity.

  Singer 9ice sat down for an interview with veteran TV personality Funmi Iyanda and they got to discuss 9ice's broken marriage specifically and marriages in general. Iyanda recalled the last time she saw him was at his house when he was still married to his first wife. She said she was sad that his marriage hit the rocks and asked if he was married again as the papers report. This he denied. When Funmi asked him to clear the air on his status, the Gongo Aso singer launched into an explanation on the problem with modern day marriages.

  Earlier today, some students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH, posted an obituary of their current Vice Chancellor, Professor Sulaiman Gbadegeshin, as a way of showing their displeasure over the lingering strike action in the school. Academic activities in the school have been on standstill for many months now due to a faceoff between the staff of the school and the Osun and Ondo state governments that are co-owners of the school. The lecturers are demanding the payment of the arrears of their salary that amounts to N7.1 billion.  

  A former FBI agent, Ali Soufan, claims that Osama bin Laden's son, Hamza - since designated a global terrorist and added to the US counter-terrorism blacklist, has vowed revenge on the west for killing his father and is set to become the next leader of al-Qaeda. Soufan, who was the FBI's lead investigator of al-Qaeda after the 9/11 terror attacks, reportedly examined documents seized from Osama's Pakistan compound when he was killed by US Navy Seals in 2011.

New French President Emmanuel Macron has named parliamentarian Edouard Philippe from the rightwing Republicans party as his first prime minister. The choice of Philippe, a 46-year-old from the northern port city of Le Havre, will be seen as an attempt by Macron to attract other moderates to his new centrist Republique En Marche party (Republic on the Move, REM).

25-year-old scientist  Kara McCullough has been crowned as Miss USA 2017 on Sunday by 2016 winner  DeShauna Barber. This is the second year in a row that the winner is emerging from the same state, D.C. District of Columbia. The event was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas and the new queen will go on to represent America in the Miss Universe contest.

Beyoncé is the leading nominee for the 2017 BET Awards with a total of seven nominations. Close behind is Bruno Mars with five nods, followed by Chance the Rapper , Solange and Migos tied at four a piece. ​Beyoncé’s seven nods include best female R&B/pop artist (vying against sister Solange), best collaboration (with Kendrick Lamar on “ Freedom ”), album of the year and video of the year. Mars, also up for album of the year and video of the year, nabbed a nomination as well for best male R&B/pop artist. Migos’ nods include best group and best collaboration for “ Bad and Bougee ” with Lil Uzi Vert . Best male hip-hop artist nominee Chance the Rapper is also a best new artist nominee along with 21 Savage , Cardi B , Khalid and Young M.A .

  Sidomex Universa l in conjunction with Sneeze Films has officially announced the release date of highly anticipated movie; Alter Ego , a movie directed by Moses Inwang .  Alter Ego, which is set to be premiered in cinemas nationwide on July 21 st first gained public attention in December 2016 when a racy sex scene between star actress and Nollywood icon, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde and counterpart, Wale Ojo was leaked by an unknown source.

Nigeria is a land of opportunity. And I do not mean this the way Nigerian politicians usually mean it, as a cliched speech for the campaign trail. I mean this from the bottom of my heart because it is true and I have benefited from it and I can prove it.   Nigeria ought to change her educational model. Our educational system is still by and large a colonial model where the occupying colonial power merely trained a select few natives for the purpose of having clerks and translators to run their exploitative government. It was never designed to transfer knowledge that prepares the recipient to add value to Nigeria. Quite on the contrary, it was designed and still remains designed to train Nigerians to take value from Nigeria and give it to the West. This is one of the reasons why we have more Nigerian medical professionals practicing in the West and Saudi Arabia than we have in Nigeria.

Aftermath of Chelsea' EPL victory, a die-hard fan in Abakaliki has named his newly-delivered baby-boy Antonio Moses. On Friday night Chelsea defeated West Bromwich Albion 1-0 to win the league title with two matches to play. The fan, Mathew Irondu, a Construction Engineer this morning said that he named the boy, born last Thursday after the club’s Coach Antonio Conte and Nigerian star, Victor Moses as his own way of celebrating the win.  

  33-year-old Pamela Stigger, an actress and a drama school teacher at Forest Glen Middle School in Coral Springs, was arrested and arraigned in court on charges of sexual battery and lewd behavior with a 15-year-old former student. According to the Police, at two o’clock in the morning, Stigger was discovered with the teenage boy in the back seat of her car.

  Friends and family members have been thrown into mourning following the death of Abuja-based woman, Suzzy Yakubu. Late Yakubu, a graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nassarawa, got married to husband Ajayi Oluwatosin on March 25 and passed away on May 4, after a brief illness. She has been laid to rest.   Three gang members have been jailed for the murder of 25-year-old Nigerian man Tobi Animashaun in Charlton, south east London. Jeremiah Lloyd Johnson, 23, of Walnut Road, E10; Codie Goodensimms, 22, of Fairthorn Road, SE7, Antoin Gray, 22 of Troughton Road, Charlton, were convicted and sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday, 10 May after an eight-week trial at the Old Bailey.   

  The senate have passed the 2017 budget. The budget was passed during plenary which was chaired by Senate President BukolaSaraki. He thanked Nigerians for their patience and understanding during the budget deliberations. 

  Singer, Lynxx has responded to rumours that he is engaged to former beauty queen, Munachi Abii. He took to his twitter page to debunk the story. He wrote;

The wife of longtime ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman died in a traffic crash in Connecticut yesterday Late Katherine Ann Berman was 67 at the time of her death and was one of two victims in the two-vehicle crash at about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday in Woodbury. The other victim was identified by police as Edward Bertulis, 87, of Waterbury.

  The Ogun state Police Command through the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Ilyasu says it has arrested a fake soldier who allegedly killed a petrol tanker motor boy in Abeokuta.   The commissioner confirmed this yesterday while presenting the suspect at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta.  Ilyasu said the 49-year-old suspect, Tunde Olatunbosun, who allegedly committed the crime on April 29, 2017 at Leme in Abeokuta, was arrested on Friday .

The company stated this in reaction to the arrest and detention of its chairman, Ubah by the Department of State Security (DSS) for what the agency said was based on his involvement in alleged stealing, diversion and illegal sale of petroleum products stored in his tank farm.
