  There was mild drama at the senate on Wednesday, as All Progressives Congress (APC) senators and those of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) squabbled over a motion by Philip Aduda, senate minority leader, urging President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his party’s promise of paying N5,000 monthly to unemployed Nigerian youths. ‎ The motion, which was seconded by Godswill Akpabio (senate minority leader), generated hot air, as APC senators shot it down. Aduda’s motion followed an earlier motion‎ on the need to curb unemployment in Nigeria by Bassey Akpan (Akwa Ibom northeast).

Authorities seized some of Lil Wayne's $30 million worth of art from inside his Miami Beach mansion to pay for a judgement, stating he owes $2 million to a private jet company after he stopped paying the lease.    The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Sulaimon Adebiyi has debunked claims that the two unidentified boys who were shot dead on Tuesday during a clash between rivalry cult groups were students of the institution. According to him, nothing was found on the bodies of the dead students to identify them as students of the school. The reports have it that barely few hours after writing their final examination, the students were allegedly shot dead in Onikolobo, an area of Abeokuta populated by students, during a road walk celebration on completing their ND examinations.

  Several persons including policemen were killed during a bank robbery at Igarra, headquarters of Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo State, on Tuesday. A security guard at the bank was killed at the operation which eyewitnesses said lasted one hour. The robbery operation was said to have begun at about 6:00pm shortly after the state’s Police Commissioner, Chris Ezike, left Auchi which is about 30 minutes drive from Igarra.

Dr. Ada ever since her pregnancy has been undergoing series of medical surveillance until the birth of her baby at Great El-Monte Community Hospital, California. In order to celebrate both mother and child, the staff and friends of First Consultants Medical Centre are jubilant as they welcome a new lease of life into the institution but could not also forget the loss of their colleague during this battle.   No fewer than 25 people lost their lives after an Australian cargo plane crashed into the White Nile River near Juba International Airport in South Sudan this morning. The crash happened few minutes after taken off from the airport. Cause of the crash is not yet known. All passengers and crew members lost their lives. Sad! See more photos after the cut...

  A four year old boy, Stephen Kanu has been abducted by unknown gunmen in the Abeokuta area of Ogun state around 5pm on Monday, November 2. The incident occurred at the family resident. The boy was reportedly playing with the family dog while the mother was engrossed with her chores. The gunmen knocked on the gate of the house and it was Stephen who went to open the gate thinking it was visitors. The suspected criminals grabbed the boy and pushed him into a waiting taxi.
