  The corpse of a young man, believed to be in his early 20s was on Monday morning found badly butchered and dumped in a waste bin at Edgerly Street in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State. Early on the day, passers-by recognized the face of the dismembered body of the youth and removed it to Edibe-Edibe Road where his parents live.

  The FA claimed they had no choice other than to threaten Jose Mourinho with a stadium ban after fining him failed to stop him breaking their rules on media comments. Mourinho was hit with a £50,000 fine and suspended one-match stadium ban after criticising the officials, including referee Robert Madley, after he failed to award Chelsea a penalty in their 3-1 home defeat by Southampton.   An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun today, sentenced one Joshua Sunday, 23, to six months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to stealing N50,000 from one Olaoye Temitope. The Chief Magistrate, however, gave the convict an option to pay N40, 000 as fine.

  Ashley Hallstrom, a 26-year-old transgender woman from Logan, Utah, Ashley Hallstrom posted a plea on Facebook on Wednesday, October 14, calling for people to help change the stigma surrounding transgender communities. She then took her own life by stepping into the path of an oncoming dump truck on a highway. Logan, Utah police said they believe that the act was intentional. "According to witnesses and information that we gathered on the scene, it appears that the pedestrian had jumped in front of that northbound vehicle," Capt. Tyson Budge said in a statement. "Evidence at the scene gave every indication that the driver had attempted to swerve and brake, to avoid the collision but was unable to do so" Budge added. An assistant superintendent of police attached to the Adigbe Police Station in Ogun State, Emmanuel Ogunlesi has inflicted a life-threatening injuries on the head of a 25-year-old student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Peter Taiwo. Taiwo, a Higher National Diploma 1 student of Computer Science was allegedly attacked by Ogunlesi at about 11:00pm last Thursday at Olatidoye Street in the Oluwo area of the state capital.
