The national publicity secretary of the PDP Oliseh Metuh said the party has taken a policy of “no statement” on Boko Haram insurgency especially in the Northern region of Nigeria.
Metuh said: We all know that as at March, April, May before we handed over power, Nigeria was a bit secured and the problem of insurgency had gone down but because of what happened to is two years ago, three years ago incessant criticisms and statements that sort to divide our people.”

He said the criticisms and statements over the activities of Boko Haram was set to divide Nigerians across tribal and religious lines, an effort to separate the government from the people by the then opposition party.

We would not want to be guilty of such because it is capable of motivating and inspiring the insurgents to continue what they were doing. So, we refrain from making any comments,” Metuh said.
He also said that the PDP will give the President Muhammadu Buhari till the proposed deadline he has given for the extermination of terrorists by the Nigerian military.
After December 31, if we have any comment to make then we would but we are praying that by the grace of God by then we would have been free of all these insurgencies,” he said.
Since 2009, terrorists operating in the Northern part of Nigeria have succeeded in killing thousands of Nigerians including women and children and displacing many others.
One of the terrorists actions that drew the attention of the global community was the kidnap of over 200 school girls from their dormitory in Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state on April 14, 2014.

Since their abduction, the federal government especially under the Goodluck Jonathan administration was under serious attack over government’s nonchalant attitude in efforts to rescue the rescue the girls.
