Residents Worry Over Bad Roads In Ejigbo
With the approach of the latter rains which will be much more than the earlier ones, residents of Ejigbo, in Lagos state have expressed fears over the poor state of roads within the area.
For long, the people of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Oshodi-Isolo local government have not enjoyed motorable roads.
For example, the Ifoshi road and the Ejigbo-Ikotun junction has remained a nightmare to motorists as the efforts by the state government to avert flooding in the area had never yielded desirable results.
It was like reprieve was coming the way of residents when former governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola, started the reconstruction of the Ejigbo Idimu road, but it was abandoned shortly before his tenure ended on May 29, 2015.
Lamenting the deplorable state of Ejigbo roads, a newspaper vendor in the area, Mrs. Ruth Funke Oyekanmi said it was affecting economic activities because movement of people and vehicles were always restricted anytime it rains.
