  Romanian prosecutors have officially indicted social media influencer Andrew Tate for trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor, and witness tampering.   His brother Tristan has also been indicted for complicity in charges that come years after prosecutors first began investigating them.  The Tate brothers, former kickboxers with dual US and British citizenship, were arrested in Miami in July after Britain requested their extradition.    They have been under criminal investigation in Romania on charges including human trafficking since December 2022.   A judge declared a mistrial on Friday, September 4, in the high-profile case of an American woman who killed her three children, but put his decision on hold to allow the defense to appeal the decision.   Judge William Sullivan said he was freezing his mistrial ruling in the trial of Lindsay Clancy for one hour to allow her lawyer to file an appeal with a higher court. Clancy, 36, does not deny strangling Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months, but claims she was suffering from postpartum psychosis – excusing her from criminal responsibility.   The dramatic developments came after the jury sent a note to the judge Friday morning saying that it was with a "heavy heart" that they were unable to reach a verdict in the case.   The jury has been deadlocked 11-1, with the majority apparently leaning towards finding Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity.   British rock band Squeeze cancelled its scheduled concert in Virginia after a worker was killed in a tragic incident at the venue before the show.   The music band was due to perform at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, on Thursday night, September 3, when the incident occurred in the parking lot.   According to reports, the worker was crushed to death by a tour bus after a supporting apparatus failed, causing the vehicle to collapse on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.   Squeeze later announced the cancellation of the concert, saying the band was “deeply saddened and shocked” by the incident.   “After discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities, the decision was made to cancel this evening’s performance,” the band said.   Squeeze added that it would work with the promoter and venue to discuss rescheduling the show and would provide ticketholders with further information.  

  Miley Cyrus has dropped her last name in the lead up to her tenth studio album, “Bass Persuades,” prompting her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to react on X.   Miley’s announcement about dropping Cyrus from her name sparked rumours about alleged ongoing tensions between the singer and her father.   However, Billy Ray revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that Miley notified him about the name change in advance and he had nothing but support for his Grammy-winning daughter.   “Family means more than ever now,” Billy Ray Cyrus wrote on X. “I always called my little girl Miley.   Nigeria Super Falcons goalkeeper, Comfort Erhabor, has completed her move to Crystal Palace Women from newly promoted Women’s Super League side Portsmouth.    The 21-year-old goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with Crystal Palace, committing her future to the club until 2028.   “Crystal Palace Women are delighted to announce the signing of Nigeria international goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor,” the club wrote on its website.   The Super Falcons star expressed her excitement about joining the WSL club. “It feels really good to be here.   Nigeria’s D’Tigress began their 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup campaign with a 99-81 defeat to South Korea in Berlin on Friday, September 4. The African champions remained within striking distance for the opening three quarters but faded in the final period as South Korea pulled away to secure an 18-point victory. South Korea took a 26-22 lead after the opening quarter before Nigeria responded in the second period, reducing the deficit to three points at 48-45 by halftime. The Koreans maintained their advantage in the third quarter, entering the final period with a 68-62 lead. Nigeria was therefore just six points behind heading into the fourth quarter, but South Korea took control down the stretch, outscoring D’Tigress 31-19 to complete the victory.
