  Kensington Palace has released a new photo of Prince George to mark his 13th birthday.   The photo of the young royal was released as he became a teenager on Wednesday, July 22.   Sharing the picture to its social media pages, the palace – which is the official London residence of Kate Middleton and Prince William – wrote: "Happy 13th birthday, George!" alongside a party popper emoji.     The picture was taken after last month’s Trooping the Colour by photographer Matt Porteous.   George is the eldest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales and is the second in line to the throne.   He was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, at 4.24pm on July 22, 2013.   The future King will also be starting secondary school at Eton College in September, following in his father’s footsteps.

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of 12 individuals for naira mutilation and abuse before Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State.   The EFCC, in a statement via its X handle, said the convicts were prosecuted by the Benin Zonal Directorate of the commission for tampering with the naira during a social event. The agency gave the names of those convicted as Abimbola Dolapo, Ufuoma Okotie, Samuel Kingsley, Rasaki Ayomide, Ekpmamuku Oghenekewvwe, Abraham Eriata, Favour Onowighose, Karaki Emmanuel Ejioghene, Simeon Sabastine, Valetine Chikeze, Omoyibo Destiny Prince and Akenuwa Clinton Osamudiamen.   According to the anti-graft agency, the convicts sprayed naira notes while dancing at a birthday party, an act it said contravened Section 21(3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.    The charge against Akenuwa Clinton Osamudiamen stated that he “whilst dancing at a birthday...

The record audience underscores soccer's growing popularity in the U.S. and is likely to boost the value of future media rights. The game, which saw Spain beat defending champion Argentina 1–0 in extra time, also was the most-watched soccer match in Spanish-language media history, Telemundo said.   Nearly 39 million U.S. viewers watched the game on Fox, which had exclusive English-language broadcast rights in the U.S. Those figures are up 132% from the 2022 final on Fox, the company said.   A professional model recruiter who for over a decade arranged for the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to meet multiple models was found dead in his home near the French capital on Monday. Daniel Siad’s body was found in his house in a local suburb, according to a statement from a deputy public prosecutor at a regional judicial Court  on Wednesday. An autopsy will be performed on the body to determine the cause of death. In a recent interview, Siad said he had no reason to believe two women he had recommended to Epstein—who had stated that Epstein abused them—had been harmed by him.   A consortium looking at buying a stake in Liverpool has approached Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos over joining their bid.   According to Sky Sports, Initial talks between Bezos and a syndicate of investors led by British-Indian millionaire businessman Amit Bhatia have been held.   Reports suggest that Bezos has not made any decision on adding a share of the Premier League club to his £192billion empire.   The Liverpool consortium is led by former QPR co-owner Bhatia, who is also the son-in-law of billionaire steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal. They are currently in talks to purchase a minority stake in the Anfield giants, having hired advisers to put together a deal with current owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG).   A small stake in the club – reportedly four per cent – was sold by FSG to Dynasty Equity, a US private equity firm, for £164million in 2023.

  Dutch football legend, Mark van Bommel has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Belgium. The 48-year-old will succeed Rudi Garcia, who is expected to leave the role following Belgium’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. While contracts are yet to be signed, all parties have reached a full agreement, with the official announcement expected once the final paperwork is completed.   Residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have been thrown into panic after gunmen killed four persons, including the Commander of the Organised Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC).     The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.      The deceased OSPAC operative, identified Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, popularly known as Boski, was said to be the Commander of the OSPAC Omoku Unit.     Three women were also reportedly killed in the attack, while two other persons sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment at a hospital.     The circumstances surrounding the attack remained sketchy as of press time, with security agencies yet to issue an official statement on the incident.     A resident, who spoke with Nigerian Tribune on condition of anonymity, said the attack had created fear across the community, forcing many residents to remain indoors over concerns of possible ...
