  Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 47 people, mainly women and children, who were being held by fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.   The rescue took place on June 20 during military operations in Kangarwa, a community in Kukawa Local Government Area. Disclosing this to newsmen, the Acting Military Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, Capt.   A Russian journalist who was among the first to expose reports of Vladimir Putin’s relationship with former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva has died in Latvia after reportedly consuming poisonous mushrooms he had gathered near his home. Grigory Nekhoroshev, 69, died in Riga, where he had lived in exile for more than a decade after fleeing Russia. Friends said the veteran editor, known for his passion for mushroom foraging, accidentally ate toxic mushrooms collected from his yard. Nekhoroshev was the editor-in-chief of the now-defunct Moskovsky Korrespondent, the newspaper that published a bombshell report in 2008 claiming Putin planned to divorce his then-wife, Lyudmila Putina, and marry Kabaeva.   Rapper Mystikal’s son, Million Tyler, says he is still processing the emotional fallout from his father’s recent conviction and prison sentence, admitting he is not yet ready to visit him behind bars.   Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on President Tinubu to resign from office just as UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, announced his resigned this morning over UK's failing economy. In a statement released on social media this afternoon, Obi said President Tinubu has failed to deliver on the promises he made before his election in 2023 and so he needs to borrow a leaf from the UK prime minister and resign from office as well.   Clive Davis, the legendary music executive credited with discovering and signing Whitney Houston, has died at the age of 94.   According to BBC, Clive Davis, who worked with some of the biggest names in music, passed away at his home in Manhattan after recently battling respiratory problems.   Over a career that spanned decades, he helped launch and shape the careers of stars including Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Santana, Christina Aguilera and Billy Joel. He signed Houston in 1983 when she was just 19 and played a major role in turning her into one of the world's biggest-selling artists.   His family described him as a visionary whose influence helped shape the soundtrack of generations.   Davis received multiple Grammy Awards during his career and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
