Reality TV star, Venita Akpofure, has replied an X user who asked her to be direct after she shared a post about pretenders.  The mum of two had made a post on X this morning about people being pretentious and that such a pattern fizzles out after a few months.  An X user felt her post was directed at a certain person and asked her to tag the person. Venita spotted the comment and immediately responded. See their exchange below

Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, has opined that Barbarians have taken over social media space in Nigeria.    While speaking at a function in Ogun state recently, the Nobel Laureate said that in other climes, social media is being used as a means of interaction because of the intellectual content and reasoned engagements being deployed by users but in Nigeria, the reverse is the case as those who ‘dragged it down have swapped the intellectual quotient aspect of it.'   He said the situation has degenerated to a level where even a mere disagreement in an election could lead to one being labelled on social media as having a phobia about others.   “In a situation where disagreement in an election can lead one being labelled something phobia or whatever.   Actress Dorcas Fapson has responded after a man said gospel artiste Moses Bliss wouldn't have gone for someone like her or cross-dresser, bobrisky in his quest for marriage.    It started after an X user stated that the singer went for a modest lady who doesn't engage in nudity. Responding, another X user asked people to stop the hype and stop making such comments as the singer is a Chorister and a ‘church boy’ so he's expected to marry a ‘Christian woman.’   Moses Bliss and his fiancee     Dorcas saw the comment and wrote ‘’Stray bullet everywhere''.    See their exchange below  

Superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up multiple awards at the Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai today, January 19.   In recognition of his prolific form in the calendar year under review, Al Nassr and Portuguese striker won the Best Middle East Player award, beating Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed El Shenawy to it.     The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also won the Maradona Award for being the top scorer in 2023, ahead of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe who scored 52 goals each for club and country, and Erling Haaland who scored 53 goals in 2023.     He also picked up the Fans' Favourite Player of the Year award at the ceremony.      In his acceptance speech, Ronaldo who was at the award ceremony in Dubai alongside his lover, Georgina Rodríguez, said: I did an amazing season.   Namibian President Hage Geingob will be undergoing treatment for cancer after routine medical checkups led to the detection of “cancerous cells”.    Namibian Presidency said on Friday, January 19, that “as part of regular annual medical examinations” the 82-year-old leader had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy on January 8, followed by a biopsy.   “On the advice of the medical team, President Geingob will undertake appropriate medical treatment to deal with the cancerous cells,” it added.   Geingob’s office gave no more details on his diagnosis but said he would continue working.  Geingob, who has been president of the southern African nation since 2015, is due to finish his second and final term in office this year.    In 2013 Geingob underwent brain surgery.   A Pennsylvania man has been stabbed to death by his neighbour for snoring loudly.   The incident came to light last Sunday evening in Upper Moreland Township, where police responded to the home of Christopher Casey after receiving a 911 call from him reporting a stabbing. C ops discovered Casey's neighbor, Robert Wallace , about 50 feet from the house with two knife wounds in his body. Casey was stabbed in the right thigh and police found blood inside and outside the residence.   Both men were rushed to a local hospital, where Wallace died. Casey was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators were able to piece together that Wallace went over to Casey's home that night and stepped onto his porch to detach a screen from one of the windows.    The duo had gotten into a heated argument, during which Casey produced a military-style knife, plunging the blade into Wallace twice. American Paralympic athlete, Roderick Townsend, who took his dog's medication after sharing a syringe with his dying pet is cleared of doping and free to compete at the 2024 Paris Games.      The three-time Paralympic gold medalist tested positive for capromorelin, a growth hormone stimulator that is prohibited at all times under the USADA Protocol for Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing on November 1, 2023.''   But, following an investigation, it transpires that all was not as it seemed and Townsend provided an abnormal sample through no fault of his own.      A  USADA investigation into Townsend  found that the athlete had been giving his dog, who has since passed, specific medicine which contained capromorelin.   Townsend, who sustained permanent nerve damage to his right arm and shoulder at birth, provided evidence of a prescription liquid pet medication containing the substance as he was trying to stabilise his dog's...
