Singer Michael Bolton has revealed that he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent a surgery for it.    The 80s and 90s hitmaking singer/songwriter said he underwent the surgery just before the 2023 holiday season, after discovering the tumor.  Bolton added that the health issue presented "unexpected challenges," but the surgery was successful and he's recovering at home, where he's being feeling love and support from friends and family.   The singer who stated that he doesn't want to disappoint fans with postponed shows, disclosed that he needs to devote his time and energy to recovering and he's going to be back onstage soon.  

The US Supreme Court has said it will review the Colorado Supreme Court’s unprecedented decision removing former President Donald Trump from that state’s ballot. The court on Friday evening, January 5 said it had scheduled oral arguments for February 8.   Trump remains on the primary ballot as the lower-court ruling disqualifying him has been put on hold pending Supreme Court action. If the justices do conclude Trump is ineligible for public office, then any votes cast for him wouldn’t count. The high court’s decision to hear the case puts the nine justices in center position of the 2024 election as voting starts in the early primary contests and represents the court’s most significant involvement in a presidential race since its highly consequential decision 23 years ago in Bush v. Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will face Mix Martial Art (MMA) star Francis Ngannou in a boxing match this year.   Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed this on his X account. Ngannou shocked the world on his professional boxing debut when he floored World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson Fury last October. However, Fury recovered from the knock down to win on points via split decision. But Ngannou is back to take on another British heavyweight, Anthony Joshua , who is rebuilding his career after successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk. Actress Glynis John has died at the age of 100.   The British actress was popular for her role as a suffragette who reconnects with her children thanks to a magical nanny in the blockbuster 1964 movie musical “Mary Poppins.”   Johns, a versatile film and stage veteran who won a Tony Award in 1973 for her role in the Stephen Sondheim musical "A Little Night Music" and was nominated for an Oscar for the 1960 film "The Sundowners," died of natural causes at an assisted living facility in the Los Angeles area, said her manager, Mitch Clem.   She appeared in dozens of films in a movie career that spanned more than 60 years but her role in "Mary Poppins" as Winifred Banks, the distracted suffragette mother who seems to care more about her cause than her two children, was the one for which she will be most remembered.     Johns also played a flirtatious mermaid in "Miranda" (1948), and then appeared in dual roles in the 1954 mermaid sequel...

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has said he will be happy if Egypt crash out in the group stages of the AFCON 2023   Star player, Mohamed Salah is away with Egypt for the tournament in Ivory Coast which will start on January 13.  If Egypt and Japan impress at the AFCON and Asian nations cup respective tournaments, that could mean Salah and Endo will not be back until the second week in February.   Speaking about the absence of the two players, Klopp said he sent them on their way this week without wishing them too much success. “I said if I wish you good luck it would be a lie,” Klopp said ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup third-round tie at Arsenal on Sunday   “From a personal point of view, I would be happy if they go out in the group stage but that’s probably not possible. American Fugitive Nicholas Rossi has been extradited from Scotland to the US following a long legal battle amid heavy sexual assault allegations.   Scottish ministers signed an order in September last year giving permission for Nicholas Rossi, 36, to be extradited, following a lengthy case in the Scottish courts.   Rossi had claimed he had been the victim of mistaken identity – telling courts he is an Irish orphan named Arthur Knight. But a police officer found he was Nicholas Rossi, and the appeal against extradition was dismissed in December, removing all obstacles towards extradition.  A spokesperson for Police Scotland said on Friday, December 5: “We assisted partner agencies with the extradition of a 36-year-old man.” Rossi is wanted in the US for allegedly raping a woman in Utah in 2008 and also faces a number of domestic abuse charges. Former US president, Donald Trump's legal team has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling disqualifying him from that state's GOP primary ballot. In the 43-page filing, Trump's lawyers contend that "in our system of 'government of the people, by the people, [and] for the people,' Colorado’s ruling is not and cannot be correct."  "This Court should grant certiorari to consider this question of paramount importance, summarily reverse the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling, and return the right to vote for their candidate of choice to the voters," the appeal states.   The Colorado Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on Dec. 19 marked the first time a challenge to Trump’s candidacy under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was successful.   In the split 4-3 decision, a majority of Colorado's seven justices said the former president was ineligible to appear on the state’s primary ballot in 2024 be...
