  The United States vetoed a resolution calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war at the United Nations Security Council on Friday, December 8.   The Security Council vote on the resolution, backed by Arab states, had 13 in favor and one — the U.S. — against, while the United Kingdom abstained. After the vote, the U.S. deputy representative to the U.N., Robert Wood, said the resolution was rushed and ignored U.S. diplomatic efforts to get more aid into Gaza and free hostages taken by Hamas militants in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. "We propose language ... that would have reinforced the life-saving diplomacy we have undertaken since Oct. 7, increased opportunities for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, encourage the release of hostages and the resumption of humanitarian pauses and laid a foundation for a durable peace," Wood said. American rapper, 2 Chainz was rushed to the hospital early on Saturday morning after his car was hit by an alleged drunk driver. The “It’s a Vibe” rapper born Tauheed K. Epps  took to his Instagram Story to share video footage of himself on a stretcher being carried into an ambulance. TMZ reported that the Atlanta rapper was rushed to a hospital after he was hit by a car in Miami by an alleged drunk driver. Thankfully, 2 Chainz has been listed in stable condition. “We’re told cops suspect the other driver may have been driving under the influence,” TMZ reported,  According to the publication, 2 Chainz, 46, suffered neck injuries and possibly other injuries but is in stable condition at the hospital.

American actor, Forest Whitaker's ex-wife Keisha Nash Whitaker has died at the age of 51, following a battle with anorexia.     The former couple's daughter True Whitaker, 25, confirmed the tragic news via her Instagram account, calling her 'the most beautiful woman in the world' in a heartbreaking post, but did not elaborate on the cause of death.      It was gathered that Nash-Whitaker died earlier this week after being in and out of hospital for the past few months with intestinal problems, following a years-long battle with anorexia.      'Keisha battled anorexia for years,' says a source. A federal grand jury in California has indicted Hunter Biden on nine charges, including three felonies, for failing to pay his taxes, understating his income, and exaggerating his expenses on tax returns between 2016 and 2019. The president’s son could face two criminal trials next year as his father runs for reelection against Donald Trump, who himself is facing four criminal cases. He is also facing separate criminal charges against him pending in Delaware for illegally possessing a gun. The Hunter Biden cases were brought by special counsel David Weiss, the Delaware prosecutor who has long supervised the federal probe into the president’s son. The new charges include tax evasion, filing false returns, failure to file returns on time, and failing to pay federal taxes. Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has predicted that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen would make an exit from Napoli in the summer of 2024. Osimhen’s current contract with the the Serie A champions is set to expire in just over 18 months and time is running out for the Naples-based outfit to agree new terms before he becomes a free agent.  According to Romano, Napoli are still desperate to convince Osimhen to commit his future to the club. Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will seek re-election in March 2024, state news agency TASS reported on Friday, December 8. Putin made the announcement after a ceremony at the Kremlin, the official residence of the Russian president, TASS said, a move that could see him retain power until at least 2030.   Putin will bid for his fifth presidential term at the elections, set to take place on March 17, 2024, as he aims to solidify his hold on power as head of state or prime minister for more than two decades.   The upcoming elections will also mark the first time that residents of the occupied Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, annexed by Russia during the conflict, will participate in the presidential elections.
