A deputy U.S. marshal has been arrested in the UK after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a Delta flight from New York City to London. The federal marshal, who has not been identified, allegedly 'acted inappropriately toward at least one woman on board,' according to law enforcement officials. The unnamed marshal was one of two who flew from NYC's John F. Kennedy Airport to London Heathrow Airport on Tuesday to extradite a criminal defendant. Two law enforcement sources told NBC that the two federal marshals had been drinking during the flight. The second deputy was also briefly detained and later sent back to the U.S. on Wednesday night without facing any charges, authorities said. The U.S. Marshals said in a statement that the agency was aware the officer 'exhibited inappropriate behavior while intoxicated on an inbound flight.' Inter Milan striker, Victor Osimhen and Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala have been named in the CAF Player of the Year final three-man list for the men and women categories, respectively. Osimhen who finished as the top scorer in the 2023 African Cup Nations qualifiers will battle Egypt’s Mohammed Salah, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez for the award. The Nigerian helped in Napoli’s Scuddeto success last season winning the Golden Boot after scoring 26 goals. An Australian toddler has died after catching a rare virus in pigeons.     The toddler, who was battling leukaemia, was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, New South Wales, after suffering cold-like symptoms, nausea and vomiting for three weeks.  She had completed her second cycle of chemo just six weeks earlier.     Medics said she had not recently travelled or come into contact with pets or sick family members.      Over the following four days, her condition deteriorated as she suffered a series of epileptic seizures.    MRI scan results did not raise anything of concern, while repeat test results for the cause of the virus also returned negative.      She was given antiviral drugs, antibiotics and anti-seizure medications to help treat brain swelling and reduce discomfort. Russia’s upper house of parliament on Thursday, December 7 announced that the country’s presidential election will be held on March 17, 2024, saying that the annexed regions of Ukraine - Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson would take part in the election. The decision was passed unanimously by 162 votes in the Federation Council.  The head of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko said “With this decision, we are effectively launching the start of the election campaign,” “By choosing a head of state together, we fully share the common responsibility and common destiny of our fatherland,” Matviyenko added  President Vladimir Putin has not yet officially announced his intention to run for a new six-year presidential term.  

  A 14-year-old girl shot and killed a classmate and wounded five others before killing herself on Thursday, Dec. 7, at a school in the western Russian city of Bryansk.   Regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz described the shooting as a "terrible tragedy." He said the five people wounded were all children with minor or moderate injuries.   "According to preliminary investigation data, a 14-year-old girl brought a pump-action shotgun to school, from which she fired shots at her classmates," Russia's  Investigative Committee said in a statement.   The statement said there were two fatalities (one of which was the shooter) and five people with injuries.     Investigators were working to determine a motive, the statement said.   Bryansk is one of several Russian regions that have seen cross-border attacks in the course of the war with Ukraine, and where Moscow has encouraged the formation of self-defense units.   There have been seve...

BBC presenter, Maryam Moshiri appeared to give the middle finger live on air in an awkward blunder.     The reporter had been fronting the midday news on Wednesday, December 6, and was seen raising her eyebrows and flipping off the camera as she came on-screen after the program's famous musical countdown ended.     Moshiri, one of the network's chief presenters, quickly realise she is live and snatches her hand away before beginning to read out the headlines about Boris Johnson.    

Three men have been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for gang raping a 16-year-old girl in1àq a small farming town in Mpumalanga, South Africa five years ago.  The victim was gang-raped inside a vehicle belonging to one of the accused men.
