Hulk Hogan, 69, has married for the third time.   The wrestling icon married Sky Daily, a mom-of-three, on Friday night, Sept. 22, in a ceremony in Clearwater, Florida.   The wedding between the wrestler and yoga instructor was a low-key affair, with only their nearest and dearest ones present.     The former WWE and WCW star has two children, Brooke, 35, and Nick, 32, from his first marriage.   Son Nick was at the wedding on Friday and shared images on Instagram. His sister Brooke did attend the wedding.   Hulk Hogan’s first marriage was to Linda Hogan . They were together between 1983 and 2009. After divorcing, he married Jennifer McDaniel the following year, from whom he separated in 2021. His split with Linda was marked by a nasty divorce process amid allegations of infidelity and financial disputes.    Hogan and Daily began dating in early 2022 after his parting with McDaniel had been finalized.  

  The US Department of State has issued new security advice to its citizens.    In a new release, the department advised Americans to reconsider travelling to Nigeria “due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, and armed gangs.”  According to the release, the department advised its citizens against travelling to Borno, Yobe, Kogi, and northern Adamawa states due to terrorism and kidnapping; Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states due to kidnapping; Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers states (with the exception of Port Harcourt) due to crime, kidnapping, and armed gangs.  It further noted that “violent crime – such as armed robbery, assault, carjacking, kidnapping, hostage taking, roadside banditry, and rape – is common throughout the country.”  The Department, however, advised citizens who still choose to travel to Nigeria to: “Carry proper identification, including a U.S. passport with a curren...

The World Bank has approved a fresh $700m loan for Nigeria. It disclosed this in a statement published on its website on Friday, Sept. 22. The new loan is to provide additional funds for an ongoing project known as the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment. The statement read: “The World Bank approved additional financing of $700m for Nigeria to scale up the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment programme whose goal is to improve secondary education opportunities among girls in targeted states. “The additional financing will scale up project activities from the current seven states to eleven additional states and increase the targeted beneficiaries to include out-of-school girls, those who are married, and those who have disabilities.” The statement added, “In the seven AGILE programme implementing states – Borno, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, and Plateau – the number of girls in secondary schools has increased from about 900,00...

  A man in Jacksonville accused of impregnating and then killing his teenage niece has been found guilty of first-degree murder in Florida.   Johnathan Quiles, 38, was also found guilty of sexual battery and the murder of the teen's unborn child after the Florida jury deliberated for about an hour.   Iyana Sawyer was 16-years-old when she disappeared in 2018. Though her body has never been found, a jury has concluded that Quiles killed her and her unborn child sometime in December of that year.   Ms Sawyer was last seen on December 19, 2018. She left her high school during her lunch period and traveled to a junkyard where Quiles was working at the time.   Police believe Quiles killed the girl, put her body in a dumpster and hid or destroyed it at a landfill.   Quiles' attorneys argued that the girl was likely still alive and tried to bar the prosecutors from using the word "victim" to describe Ms Sawyer.   However,...

Sheffield United footballer, Maddy Cusack has died at the age of 27, the club has revealed. Cusack, named vice-captain last month, had just started her sixth season with the Blades in the Women’s Championship and was the longest-serving player in their current squad.  A statement on the club’s official website read: ‘Sheffield United Football Club is devastated to report the sad news of the passing of Maddy Cusack.   ‘Maddy, a women’s team player since 2019 and marketing executive for the Football Club, passed away on Wednesday. ‘A respected player, Maddy, 27, last season reached the milestone of 100 appearances for Sheffield United Women.  ‘Additionally, she was a valued colleague in the offices at Bramall Lane, moving over from the Sheffield United Community Foundation to the club in 2021 to help market all areas of the Blades.’ ‘The club and Maddy’s family would appreciate a period of privacy and will not comment further at this sad time.’   Cusack joined ...

Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped a place in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola world ranking. The Super Eagles who were ranked 39th in the rankings released in June, lost three points and dropped to 40th despite their  6-0 victory against  Sao Tome and Principe in their last game of the AFCON qualifiers. The ranking was published on FIFA’s official website on Thursday, 21 September 2023.   In Africa, the Super Eagles are sixth behind 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco (1st), 2021 AFCON winners Senegal (2nd), Tunisia (3rd), Algeria (4th) and Egypt (5th). World champions Argentina tightened their grip at the top of the ranking thanks to a 1-0 win against Ecuador and a 3-0 away success against Bolivia in their opening FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has confirmed the resignation of Mr Godwin Emefiele as its governor, three months after being suspended from office by President Bola Tinubu.   Olayemi Michael Cardoso who was nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will act as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, pending his confirmation by the parliament.  A statement released by the apex bank says Cardoso's assumption follows the resignation of the immediate past governor of the bank, Godwin Emefiele,   The statement added that the Deputy-Governors-Designate of the bank have also assumed duty, in acting capacities sequel to the formal resignation of Mr. Folashodun Shonubi, Mrs. Aishah Ahmad, Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu, and Dr. Kingsley Obiora as Deputy Governors of the CBN.   ‘’Dr. Cardoso and his colleagues subscribed to the relevant oaths of office at a brief ceremony held at the Bank’s Head Office in Abuja, on Friday, September 2023, and have since settled dow...
