The Super Falcons of Nigeria have failed to advance to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 quarter-finals after they lost to England following a dramatic penalty shoot-out over England.    The two nations failed to find the back of the net in 90 minutes, and after 30 minutes of extra time, the scoreline remained goalless.  The Nigerian stars looked most likely to score in the game even after the England side were reduced to 10 women following a red card to Lauren James for stamping on the back of Nigeria player Michelle Alozie. But A defensive display from England took to game to extra time before a penalty shootout. England won 4 -2  on penalties.  England will either face Colombia or Jamaica in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

A woman is accused of attempting to poison her husband, a U.S. Army airman, by pouring chlorine into his coffee. Melody Felicano Johnson, 39, from Arizona was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and adding harmful substances to food, drink, or medicine. Melody Johnson and her husband Roby have a child together and are going through a divorce, court documents showed, according to FOX 10. The documents stated that Roby began to notice his coffee tasted odd while he was drinking a cup in March when the family was stationed in Germany. He drank the coffee for two or three weeks before purchasing pool testing strips to determine what was wrong with it. First, he tested the tap water, which reportedly came back normal, but after conducting the test on his coffee, he discovered the drink contained high levels of chlorine.   Lionel Messi is already the joint-fourth-highest scorer in Inter Miami's history less than a month after signing for the club.   Messi scored twice as Inter Miami snatched victory on penalties against Dallas in the Leagues Cup after the game finished 4-4.    It has been a remarkable start to his Inter Miami career for Messi, who has scored seven times in just four appearances.   As reported by Ian Hest, Messi is now level with current team-mate Josef Martinez on seven goals along with Lewis Morgan and Rodolfo Pizarro.   The only players to have scored more than Messi for Inter Miami are Gonzalo Higuain (29), and current Inter players Leo Campana (16) and Robert Taylor (8).    Higuain represented Inter Miami between 2020 and 2022, and made 70 appearances for the club.     INTER MIAMI ALL-TIME TOP SCORERS  1. Anthony Joshua's former rival Andy Ruiz Jr has offered to step in for Dillian Whyte after the collapse of his rematch with Dillian Whyte over a failed drug test.   Whyte failed a drug test for the third time in his career, ruling him out of his all-British fight with AJ, denying him the chance to avenge his 2015 loss, and forcing Joshua to find an emergency stand-in.   Jamie Foxx has apologized to the Jewish community and ‘anyone who was offended’ after a cryptic post he shared offended some people who accused him of antisemitic  The actor, 55, on Friday August 4, shared a cryptic post on Instagram slamming ‘fake friends’ and ‘fake love ,’ and writing: ‘They killed this dude name Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?’       Jamie’s post was widely shared and was interpreted by some as being antisemitic, with The Times of Israel stating that Foxx’s post can be seen to reference the ‘Jewish deicide’, a belief that ‘Jews are collectively responsibly for the killing of Jesus.’   Jamie has now taken to Instagram to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by his post. He said he now knows ‘my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent''    

  The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing Nigerian woman, Oluwatobi, in Canada  In a statement on Friday, August 4, Toronto Police said Oluwatobi, 26, was last seen on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 9:30 p.m., in the King Street and Church Street Area.     "Oluwatobi is described as 5'6", 160 lbs., thin build, and has long black hair. Oluwatobi was last seen wearing a dark shirt, grey pants, white shoes, and carrying a beige purse," the statement read.   “Police are concerned for their safety.   The first picture of an  Ivorian fugitive wanted in connection with the murder of an aspiring lawyer has been released online. Lior Agbayan, 20, remains on the run in the West African nation two and a half years after Sven Badzak, 22, was knifed to death in a case of mistaken identity as he walked back from Waitrose after buying some orange juice.     Rashid Gedel, 22, and Shiroh Ambersley, 23, were yesterday each jailed for a minimum of 27 years after being found guilty of murder and a knife attack on Mr. Badzak’s friend, 16, in Kilburn, north-west London, in February 2021.     But Agbayan, the son of a diplomat, remains in the Ivory Coast as there is no extradition agreement with Britain. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.   Extradition experts said an ad hoc deal could in theory be struck that could bring the suspect to the UK to face justice, but warned this could take years and his father could attempt to frustrate attempts ...
