A 28-year-old man, Rashid Ali Bynum, has been arrested for the murder of New Jersey councilwoman, Eunice Dwumfour, who was shot dead outside her home in New Jersery, U.S. in February. Dwumfor, a member of the Sayreville Borough Council, was the wife of a Nigerian pastor, Eze Kings Akwue, who is based in Abuja and hails from Anambra State. The couple got married in Abuja on November 24, 2022.  Bynum, of Portsmouth, who apparently knew Dwumfour from church, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning May 30, on charges including first-degree murder and two second-degree handgun charges, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced at a news conference.  On February. 1, Dwumfour, a 30-year-old mom and church leader, was shot multiple times while she was in her SUV outside her townhouse. The Central Bank of Nigeria has denied reports of the devaluing the Naira.  DailyTrust had earlier reported that the apex bank has devalued the Naira to N631 to $1. However in a post shared on social media today June 1, the CBN described the news as fake.  See the CBN's posts below....  

The Naira has reportedly been devalued by the Central Bank of Nigeria to N640 to a dollar, from N461.6 sold at the Importers and Exporters (I&E) window the previous day.    The Naira was devalued barely 48 hours after President Bola Tinubu announced his plan t o unify the country’s exchange rate to stimulate the economy.   A wide margin between the I&E window and the parallel market otherwise known as “black market”, has encouraged round-tripping with Bureau de Change operators.   Daily Trust reported that CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele discussed the issue of the exchange rate at a meeting with Tinubu on Tuesday, May 30.    The publication reported that at the resumption of the weekly bidding for foreign exchange shortly the meeting was held on Tuesday, the apex bank sold the spot rate to banks on behalf of their customers at N631 to a dollar and most bidders got the full amount they requested.   A customer revealed that their request ...

Music executive, Diddy has filed a lawsuit against Diageo, the UK-based booze behemoth.   Diddy's LLC, Combs Wine and Spirits filed a lawsuit claiming the singer has been in a partnership with Diageo to lead all marketing and innovation. Diddy says, after he sparked booming sales for Ciroc, the companies decided to go in together on DeLeon Tequila.   They however turned their back on both him and DeLeon, to the point of stifling its growth and more importantly, his bottom line.   He also claimed that Diageo has refused to properly market/invest in DeLeon, while going on to give most of its attention and resources to its other tequila lines like Don Julio or Casamigos. Manchester United are set to pay Harry Maguire £10million pay-off to leave the club this summer.   Saturday's FA Cup final is likely to be Maguire's last game as a United player with the 30-year-old captain set for a place on the bench against Manchester City at Wembley.   Manchester United paid £80m for Maguire to sign him from Leicester in 2019, but he is now valued at closer to £30m due to his age and the fact he is two-thirds of the way through a six-year contract.   Maguire has another two years left on the £190,000-a-week deal, and it's anticipated that he would earn only half that amount at a new club - leaving United to foot a £10m wage bill to get him off their books. American actor, Danny Masterson has been found guilty on two out of three counts of rape.   The star of That '70s Show, a TV series, faces up to 30 years in prison. He was led from court in handcuffs.   Three women, all former members of the Church of Scientology, accused the actor of sexual assault at his Hollywood home from 2001-03.   Prosecutors argued Masterson had relied on his status as a prominent Scientologist to avoid accountability. The jury of seven women and five men was unable to reach a verdict on a third count after a week of deliberations, ending up deadlocked at 8-4. One of his victims, who was raped in 2003, said in a statement quoted by the Associated Press: "I am experiencing a complex array of emotions - relief, exhaustion, strength, sadness - knowing that my abuser, Danny Masterson, will face accountability for his criminal behavior."   Masterson's wife, actress and model Bijou Phillips, wept as he was led away, CBS News reports.   A...
