Professor Ama Ata Aidoo, a renowned Ghanaian author, poet and playwright has passed on at age 81.   Aidoo who had an illustrious career spanning over five decades, died on Wednesday morning May 31, 2023. Kwamena Essandoh, the family head said in a statement;    “The Family of Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo with deep sorrow but in the hope of the resurrection, informs the general public that our beloved relative and writer passed away in the early hours of this morning Wednesday 31st May 2023, after a short illness. “Funeral arrangements would be announced in due course. The Family requests privacy at this difficult moment.”   The renowned feminist depicted and celebrated the condition of African women in works such as The Dilemma of a Ghost, Our Sister Killjoy and Changes. A woman who accused US President, Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her has defected to Russia and is seeking citizenship. Tara Reade, 59, came forward during the 2020 presidential race with allegations that Biden sexually harassed and assaulted her in 1993 when he was a senator and she worked in his office.   Biden denied the allegations, and Reade reiterated them after he announced his reelection bid for 2024. Reade tweeted that she was willing 'to testify under oath in Congress if asked' – and afterwards received death threats. She recently went to Russia and on Tuesday May 30. Sitting next to convicted Kremlin spy Maria Butina, Reade opened up about her 'very difficult' decision to go there. Former Manchester United and Portugal winger,  Nani has left Melbourne Victory after just 10 league appearances, the Australian club said on Wednesday, May 31.   The 36-year-old was hailed as one of the A-League’s biggest coups in years when he signed last year. But failed to score a goal, before a serious knee injury ruled him out for the rest of the season.  “The club would like to thank Nani for his contribution and wishes him the best for the future,” Victory said in a statement.   Nani joined from Italian club Venezia, following stints in the United States, Spain, and Turkey, having left United in 2015.   Nani was capped 112 times for Portugal and won the Premier League with United.   Melbourne Victory finished the A-League season 11th in the 12-team table.

Actor Tyler Christopher who featured in “General Hospital” has been arrested by the police in Southern California.   Burbank PD said the longtime soap actor was arrested on Friday, May 26, at the airport after cops were notified of a dude snoozing on the ground near the American Airlines terminal. Officers suspected the incident might have been alcohol-related.   When the officers approached Christopher and woke him up, he told them he'd missed his flight. That apparently wasn't a good enough explanation for them as police officers ended up cuffing and booking him for public intoxication.     It was gathered that the actor displayed clear and objective signs of intoxication and he was unable to care for himself. He's been cited and released with a date to appear in court.   He was arrested for something very similar a few years ago when he got thrown in jail for passing out at the back of an Uber. The driver claimed he urinated on himself.

  The US government will appear in a federal court next Tuesday, June 6, to answer questions regarding Prince Harry's visa application after he admitted using illegal drugs. The Heritage Foundation, a Washington DC-based conservative think-tank, is suing Joe Biden's administration to force officials to release the Duke of Sussex's immigration files.   The organisation wants to know how the prince managed to get into the US after he confessed in his bombshell memoir Spare to taking cocaine, cannabis, and magic mushrooms. The Heritage Foundation has said its case will be held in front of a federal judge on June 6 at 2.30pm in courtroom 17 of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.     The news was revealed by Nile Gardner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Centre for Freedom at the Heritage Foundation, who also said it would be open to the press.   Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori are having a swell time with their photos being taken in public over their unique outfits.  The couple recently stepped out with Censori opting for a full headwrap. They were spotted out on Monday, May 29, leaving Edition Hotel in West Hollywood after noshing on the hotel's rooftop. Ye rocked a Berlin T-shirt with his signature sock/shoe combo. Bianca, on the other hand, wore a headwrap to totally cover her face with a sweatshirt and leggings.   It's not the first time Bianca has opted for a headwrap. Last week, the pair wore similar outfits, Bianca chose a tank top and nearly-sheer leggings.   The wraps are a full 180 from Bianca's latest fashion campaign where she went completely nude modeling a look from designer Mowalola Ogunlesi, w ith only a black square material covering her boobs, vagina, and a black cross on her butt crack.
