Manchester United are launching a £55million swoop for Chelsea forward Mason Mount. The England international, who missed the final weeks of the season through injury, is a target for Erik ten Hag and the United boss wants a deal wrapped up quickly. Mount is entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge with his future under increasing uncertainty. Old Trafford sources have indicated that talks over a move for the 24-year-old are set to commence. United want to pay in the region of £55m for Mount, a price that falls way below Chelsea’s £85m valuation. United may be prepared to increase their initial valuation of Mount given Ten Hag’s determination to add the attacker to his ranks next season. In addition to United, Arsenal are also interested in Mount as Mikel Arteta looks to build on his team’s second-placed finish this season. Liverpool are also actively pursuing a deal for Mount as Jurgen Klopp seeks to rebuild his midfield after a difficult season.

  About 1997  minors were sexually abused by Catholic priests in Illinois over 69 years, a shocking investigation by the state's Attorney General has found. As many as 451 of the church's clergy members and lay religious brothers in six dioceses abused 1,997 children in Illinois between 1950 and 2019, Attorney General Kwame Raoul said on Tuesday May 23, as he unveiled the report.  The 696-page document accuses Illinois church leaders of being severely slow to acknowledge the extent of the abuse, and of frequently dragging their feet to confront accused clergy. A Brazilian influencer has been shot dead in front of her boyfriend and their two-year-old son in a botched robbery following a high-speed chase in Rio.   According to Mail Online, Luanne Jardim was sitting in the passenger seat of her car while her boyfriend, João Farche, was attempting to flee from the suspects on Sunday night, May 21.  The 33-year-old was struck on the shoulder as the couple's son, Miguelzinho Farche, looked on. She was rushed to Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital, where she died.     The Rio de Janeiro Military Police said it is investigating the incident as an attempted robbery, but Jardim's father believes she was executed. La Liga club, Valencia have been fined €45,000 and will have to close the stand where Vinicius Jr was racially abused for five games after a ruling by the Spanish FA.   The Mario Kempes stand, where the chants targeting Vinicius originated in Valencia's 1-0 win over Real Madrid on Sunday, will be closed for Valencia's one remaining home game this season and the first four matches of next season. WWE star, Goldberg was left with a gnarly head wound following a tractor accident at his farm in Texas.  His rep told TMZ Sports that Goldberg was getting work done on his property, when he accidentally knocked his noggin on his tractor, opening up a big gash near his forehead.     The cut the 56-year-old wrestling legend suffered led to blood loss. Goldberg further stated that it was nothing serious, adding that it was all "just a flesh wound." He also told the publication that he i s simply super gluing “the thing” shut.
