The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has been asked by the federal government to shelve its planned warning strike billed to start today, May 17.  Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, who admitted that he received a letter from the NARD executive notifying him of the impending industrial action, vowed to implement the no work no pay rule, should the action go ahead. Ngige who revealed that he contacted the Minister of Health, who informed him that a meeting has been scheduled by his office with the doctors today, advised the doctors to avail themselves of the opportunity for dialogue with their employer, rather than embarking on a warning strike unknown to law. He noted that the Federal Government has the right to also withhold the salaries of the doctors for the duration of the warning strike. The Qatari billionaire who wants to buy Manchester United has made an extraordinary eleventh-hour 'take it or leave it' offer for the club. According to Mail Sport, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has submitted a final, improved bid in an attempt to see off competition from rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe and conclude a deal for total ownership of the Premier League giants to end a protracted saga.   This is after several bidding with a deadline for final offers set last month.   The attraction of the Qatari bid is that it is for complete control of Manchester United and the fee will be paid immediately, instantly wiping out the club’s debt.   There is also a promise from Sheikh Jassim that there will be meaningful investment in the playing squad and in either improving or rebuilding Old Trafford.   The bidding process might not be over yet as Ratcliffe, a boyhood Manchester United fan, could return with a new offer to react to the latest Qatari move.   Th...

Lauren Boebert has filed for a divorce from her husband of 18 years.  The U.S. congresswoman who made the announcement on Tuesday, May 16, cited “ irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split with her husband, but said she does not ”intend to discuss this matter any further in public out of respect for our children.”    Boebert said in a statement;   “It is with a heavy weight on my heart that I have filed for divorce from my husband. I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our beautiful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process.  “I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult. Rapper Shy Glizzy was arrested over the weekend after reportedly pulling a gun on his girlfriend and threatening to harm her.  Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the rapper was arrested on Saturday, May 13, following a verbal altercation with his on-again, off-again girlfriend which police said escalated to the point where Shy grabbed a firearm and made a threat.   The alleged incident played out on a public street around 9 AM on Saturday, and Shy took off after the argument. West Hollywood Sheriff's Deputies got involved and a criminal report was made. Shy was eventually tracked down by 6PM and arrested.   Shy Glizzy was booked on a felony charge of making criminal threats and records showed he was released after about 4 hours behind bars on a $50,000 bond.   Police did not find a gun on Shy when he was arrested and he denied ever threatening his girlfriend who he's been dating off and on for 4 months.   The case remains under investigation.

Ghanaian socialite Mona Faiz Montrage popularly known as Hajia4Reall has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the US for allegedly swindling over $2 million from older, single American men and women in a twisted lonely hearts scam.  Recall that the social media influencer whose Instagram account is among the top 10 most followed in Ghana, was arrested on November 10, 2022, in the UK for the alleged conspiracy and brought to the US on Friday, May 12.   US prosecutors said the popular socialite and singer appeared in Manhattan federal court on Monday, May 15, for her alleged involvement in a series of romance schemes targeting older people who lived alone.  “As alleged, Mona Faiz Montrage was a member of a criminal conspiracy that specifically targeted older Americans through romance scams,” Manhattan US Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. “These scams can be both financially and emotionally devastating for vulnerable victims.”   Her lawy...

  At least three people have been killed and two officers injured in a shooting in Farmington, New Mexico. A suspect was reported to have two pistol-type weapons, according to local New Mexico newspaper The Journal. The suspect was killed on the scene and there is no ongoing threat, police said. Multiple civilians and officers from the Farmington Police Department were involved in the shooting, which happened at around 11am on Monday morning, the department said in a statement.   Two officers were shot, one from the Farmington Police Department and one from New Mexico State Police. Both were taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center and treated for their injuries but said to be in stable condition.   It is not clear yet how many civilians were injured.   The shooting happened in the area south of Brookside Park in Farmington soon after 11 am on May 15.   Multiple vehicles and houses were reported to have been struck by bullets.   Four nearby school...

WWE Hall of Famer "Superstar" Billy Graham is now on life support and his family said his situation is serious.  Valerie, wife of the wrestler known for his prowess as a bodybuilder and wrestler shared news of her husband's health condition on Monday, May 15. She said;  "Please urgent prayers needed for my husband. The doctors wanted to remove him from life support tonight. I refused. "He’s a fighter and his will is strong even if his body isn’t. God is our hope." A GoFundMe account set up for Graham revealed that the 79-year-old is dealing with a "myriad of very serious health issues" and has been in the ICU for over three weeks. The once iconic bodybuilder is suffering from a significant infection in his ears and skull, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and hearing loss. His family said he's also recently lost 45 pounds.
