The family of a 22-year-old woman who was found dead in her room are demanding justice as they claim the police is not doing enough to get to the bottom of the matter. Kabirat Sobola, a former student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, was reportedly murdered in her room in Abeokuta on Friday, February 4, 2023.   When the deceased, a National Diploma holder, was not reachable for hours, her boyfriend went to the police station to report her missing but the police detained him. A husband and wife riding a hot air balloon died and their daughter was injured after the balloon caught fire and plummeted to the ground moments after they posed for a final family photo in front of the aircraft in Mexico City. The accident took place in  Mexico City Saturday, April 1, and claimed the lives of two victims, Jose Nolasco, 50, and wife Viridiana Becerril, 38, Mexican authorities have confirmed.   Video posted to social media by onlookers shows the balloon descending rapidly as it bursts into flames. The chilling footage also shows occupants appearing to either fall or jump from the craft.     Mexican authorities said their daughter, Regina Itzani, broke her arm when she jumped from the fiery gondola. Despite her broken arm and second-degree burns, Itzani is expected to survive.   The family, from the city of Caujimalpa de Morelos, was on a joyride over the pre-Hispanic ruin site of Teotihuacan, a popular tourist area.   ...

  Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie and his wife, May, are bereaved as they lost their first son, Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, on Wednesday, March 29.   According to reports, Kambilichukwu had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday. After his examination on Wednesday, he joined his friends to play football. While playing, he slumped and developed a seizure. He was immediately rushed to the Mother and Child hospital where he was confirmed dead.   Kambilichukwu turned 16 in January 2023 and his parents took to social media to celebrate him.      May his soul rest in peace, Amen🙏🙏🙏

  A woman has been arrested in France and faces a criminal trial for posting a slogan referring to President Emmanuel Macron as 'garbage' on Facebook. The 50-year-old woman named as only Valerie, was placed in police custody for the alleged offence.   She is accused of 'publicly insulting' the French President, who has witnessed millions take to the streets in protest to his controversial move to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a parliamentary vote.   'I asked them if it was a joke,' Valerie told the Voix du Nord (Voice of the North) newspaper. Actress Priyanka Chopra has shared the feeling she had after she froze her eggs.    The actress who spoke up in support of women freezing their eggs, said she felt so much freedom when she did that and it allowed her to focus on herself.    Priyanka said;    "I did it in my early 30s. I could continue on an ambitious warpath that I wanted to achieve. I wanted to get to a certain place in my career. I also hadn't met the person I wanted to have children with or I didn't see that. That's anxiety-inducing. [I was] 35, and my mom's an OB-GYN who's like, '36 — Just do it.'  “I tell everyone to [freeze their eggs]. The UAE has appointed Sheikh Mansour as their new Vice President. In a statement carried out by the state news agency Wam, Sheikh Mohamed made the vice presidential appointment in his capacity as Head of State. The UAE president issued a resolution, with the approval of the UAE Federal Supreme Council, to appoint Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister of the Presidential Court as UAE Vice President.     The president also named his son Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the richest of the UAE’s seven emirates, a post that has traditionally signified the next in line to the presidency. Sheikh Mansour has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, along with a number of key positions in business and with Abu Dhabi's wealth funds. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was named as president last May following the death of his half-brother Sheikh Khalifa.
