  Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt says he is baffled over how $12.7 million of his money went missing from a local private investment firm, that authorities are investigating as part of a massive fraud.   Speaking to reporters, Friday, January 27, Bolt said he has fired his business manager, adding that it was not an amicable split.  When asked if he was “broke,” the retired star athlete laughed.   “I’m not broke, but it’s definitely put a damper on me,” he said. “It was for my future. Everybody knows I have three kids. I’m still looking out for my parents, and I still want to live very well.” Bolt’s attorneys have said the athlete’s account with Kingston-based Stocks and Securities Limited dwindled from nearly $12.8 million to some $12,000.   Leicester city buoyed by a goal from Nigerian footballer Kelechi Iheanacho avoided a shock elimination from the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Walsall on Saturday, January 28. The Nigerian has scored more goals in the competition than any other player since making his debut in 2016.   Iheanacho’s 17th goal in 23 FA Cup appearances had some fortune as his strike from the edge of the box took a wicked deflection for the only goal 23 minutes from time.   A Nigerian national, Valentine Ebuka Ezike, has been arrested during a drug sting in the Philippines. The suspect was nabbed around 9:am on Saturday, January 28, 2023, by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office at Block 8 Lot 34,Palmdale Village, Governor's Hill, Biclatan General Trias 4107 Cavite.    Authorities seized 500 grams of suspected shabu, a box containing two resealable transparent plastic bags containing more or less 1,000 grams each of brownish granules substance, plastic basin containing weighing scale, four identification cards, one laptop and 3 cellular phones from Ezike, during the buy-bust.    PDEA said Ezike was believed to be a member of the West African Drug Syndicate that recruits Filipinos to transport illegal drugs.   He will be charged with violation of sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A student nurse appeared in a British court Friday, January 27, charged with planning to attack an air force base and taking a home-made bomb to a hospital maternity unit where he worked. Mohammad Farooq, 27, was arrested outside St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds, northern England, on January 20 with what prosecutors say was a “viable” pressure-cooker bomb containing 13.7 kilograms (30 pounds) of a homemade low-explosive mixture.  Prosecutors allege that Farooq carried out “hostile reconnaissance” of a Royal Air Force base in England earlier this month after being encouraged online to attack it.   He faces one charge of preparing an act of terrorism in connection with the air base plan, which prosecutors allege was motivated by Islamic extremism.     Farooq is also charged with possessing an explosive substance and possessing an imitation firearm over the hospital incident, which prosecutors say was motivated by a grudge against another staff...
