A 22 year old Elderly dog has been recognized by Guinness book of records as the world’s oldest living dog. The dog's owner Alex Wolf, from Colorado, USA got him from a rescue shelter in 2002, over 20 years ago, but he was born two years earlier than this, on September 24, 2000.  Alex, who is now aged 40, says he got him when he was in university in California.   Speaking to Today, Alex said; ‘He’s been there every step of the way. ‘I’m so glad we got him. He’s the best. ‘If we were having a later night, he would stay up, and if I was sleeping in, he would sleep in. He was one of the guys.’   Asked what he thought was the secret to his longevity, he said: ‘I give him all the credit. He’s gotten a lot of love, and I think he’s just a strong dog. He’s been there every step of the way. I’m so glad we got him. Former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account has been reinstated on the platform. The account, which Twitter banned following the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, was restored after Twitter CEO and new owner Elon Musk posted a poll on Twitter on Friday night, November 18 asking the platform’s users if Trump should be reinstated.  “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,” Musk tweeted Saturday night. “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Latin for “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” The final poll results on Saturday night showed 51.8% in favor and 48.2% opposed. The poll included 15 million votes.  The much-anticipated decision from Musk sets the stage for the former president’s return to the social media platform where he was previously its most influential, and most controversial user. Current Ballon d'Or champion, Karim Benzema has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering an injury in training.    The Real Madrid striker's first full training session ended his World Cup dreams after he suffered an injury on Saturday November 19.   He was then brought in for a scan in Doha, which later confirmed a femoral rectus injury that will keep the 34-year-old out for three weeks.   A statement by the French national team on their social media accounts said: 'Karim Benzema is forced to give up participating in the World Cup.   'The whole team shares Karim's sadness and wishes him a speedy recovery.'   This is the latest setback for France who have already had prolific RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku ruled out after an injury in training.   The likes of Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante, Presnel Kimpembe and goalkeeper Mike Maignan were all unavailable for selection due to their own injuries.

  Republicans have won majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, setting the stage for two years of divided government as President Joe Biden's Democratic Party held control of the Senate. The victory gives Republicans the power to delay or deny Biden's agenda, as well as to launch potentially politically damaging probes of his administration and family.  The final call vote on Wednesday, November 16 after more than a week of ballot counting, with media projections showing Republicans had won the 218 seats they needed to control the House.  The party's current House leader, Kevin McCarthy, may have a challenging road ahead as he will need his caucus to hold together on critical votes, including funding the government and military at a time when former President Donald Trump has launched another run for the White House.
