Ada Joy Agwu Eme, from Abia State, emerged as the 2022 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.   The 34th MBGN beauty pageant took place on Friday, October 21, at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos State.     The 24-year-old model and event planner beat 36 other contestants to win the beauty pageant.     Miss Edo, Montana Onose Felix, finished second and was crowned with the title of Miss Universe Nigeria, 2022.     Miss Anambra, Genevieve Ukatu, Miss Abuja, Ifeoma Uzogheli, and Miss Lagos, Lydia Balogun made the top 5 and went home with the titles, Miss Supranational Nigeria, Miss Ecowas Nigeria, and Miss Tourism Nigeria, respectively.     Ada succeeded Oluchi Madubuike, who was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2021.

A 31-year-old football player identified as Ernest Peremobowei, has died while trying to rescue victims of a boat mishap in Bebelebiri community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.   The deceased popularly known as Tido, was a top scorer in the just concluded Prosperity Cup, a grassroot football tournament organized by the Government of Bayelsa State.   He died while returning home in a canoe shortly after taking his wife and two children, aged 3 years and 10 months old, to an IDP camp to escape the raging flood.      According to an eyewitness account, the canoe which was conveying him and six other persons from the Federal Medical Center waterfront capsized because it could not withstand the current of the raging flood.   Confirming the incident, Kenneth Dreams, the coach of Bebelebiri FC which he played for during the last edition of the competition, said that the popular footballer died in the process of rescuing other oc...

Kim Kardashian and Peter Davidson are reportedly still seeing each other secretly. According to The Sun, the 42-year-old reality star and the 28-year-old comedian "shared a secret sleepover in her New York City hotel room" just two months after their breakup.   A source revealed to the outlet that after Kim returned from Paris Fashion Week, she made a trip to New York to see Pete while he was filming Bupkis. The source said: "Pete visited Kim at her room and the next day Kim was seen sneaking out a back entrance of the hotel in a disguise and hopped in a waiting Escalade to visit Pete on Staten Island."  Recall that Kim Kardashian and Pete had a whirlwind nine-month romance before calling it quits in August. However, according to Sun, they still slept together this October.

Former US President Donald Trump was issued an order on Friday to testify under oath and provide documents to the House of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.   The committee said it had sent a subpoena to Trump requiring documents to be submitted to the panel by Nov. 4 and him to appear for deposition testimony beginning on or about Nov. 14.  Deposition testimony refers to closed-door, videotaped questioning of a witness on the record which could be made public and become part of a final report by the special panel. "As demonstrated in our hearings, we have assembled overwhelming evidence, including from dozens of your former appointees and staff, that you personally orchestrated and oversaw a multi-part effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election and to obstruct the peaceful transition of power," the committee wrote in a letter to Trump on Friday, October 21.   Trump has accused...

United Arab Emirates Immigration authorities have imposed a visa ban on Nigerians and are now rejecting visa applications.   This was conveyed in a notice issued to UAE's trade partners in Nigeria including travel agencies on Friday October 21.   No reason was given for the visa ban, but the United Arab Emirates Immigration authorities said all applications are on-hold until issues between the UAE government and the Nigerian government are resolved.   It read;    “All Dubai applications submitted are now rejected. It is  general for Nigerians and approvals are on hold at the moment. “Kindly advise your clients to resubmit C2=A0 applications when the issue is resolved between both governments.”   Punch reported that a source at travel agency, Wakanow confirmed the development.   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested two suspected currency counterfeiters in Abuja.   A statement issued by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren on Friday, October 21, 2022, identified the suspects as Johnson Olumoyegun and Tanko Abubakar.   He said the suspects were arrested on Thursday and Friday, October 6 and 7, 2022 in Kubwa and Area 3 Axis of Abuja, with fake $270,000 (Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand United States Dollars).   In addition, Olumoyegun impersonated an officer of the Commission, using a fake EFCC ID card with the name Solomon David. He also carried an ECOWAS Passport with the name, Isa Bello.   The two suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.  

  A British gangster rapper has been jailed alongside two others for running a huge heroin and cocaine dealing empire.   The rapper, 'Champaz', whose real name is Rayal Eastwood, used the encrypted EncroChat network to set up large drug deals across Birmingham and London before spending the money on flash motors.     The 38-year-old portrayed himself on social media as a singer, rapper, and producer who creates 'some of the most controversial lyrics in dancehall scenery'. But in reality, he was making money from running a large-scale drug dealing enterprise alongside Dakarai Thomas, 37, and 41-year-old Zadengel Raphael.   According to Mail Online, a court heard the trio used phone messaging which they believed offered under-the-radar conversations police couldn't trace.
