  A Russian soldier has been arrested after he allegedly filmed himself raping a one-year-old baby in Ukraine and shared the horrific video on social media. Alexei Bychkov is accused of being the man behind the assault, with reports in the Russian media saying he was detained by local police. The arrest comes after Lyudmila Denisova, commissioner for human rights in the Ukrainian Parliament, alleged on Saturday, April 9, that Russian troops have raped children during the war. In a statement on Telegram, she said a 14-year-old girl in Bucha was raped by five soldiers and as a result is now pregnant. Also, an 11-year-old boy in the same town was allegedly raped in front of his mum, who was tied to a chair and forced to watch. Three soldiers also allegedly raped a 20-year-old woman in Irpen.     An earlier statement shared on Friday, April 8, said Russians had raped a 16-year-old girl and her 78-year-old grandmother in a village in the Kherson region. ...

The Queen of England has revealed Covid left her "very tired and exhausted" . Queen Elizabeth II,  caught the virus earlier this year and despite being 95 has battled and recovered from the virus.  Taking part in a virtual hospital visit on Sunday, April 10, she described her experience to a former virus patient, whose father and brother died with the illness.     During her video call to the Royal London Hospital as it opened the Queen Elizabeth Unit, she told former Covid patient Asef Hussain and his wife Shamina:    "It [Covid] does leave one very tired and exhausted, doesn't it?"  "This horrible pandemic. Ukraine’s economy will shrink by 45 percent this year, the World Bank has said. No thanks to Russia’s invasion. The global bank, in a statement issued in Washington on Sunday, said the war against Ukraine and sanctions on Russia are hitting economies around the globe, with emerging market and developing countries in the Europe and Central Asia region expected to bear the brunt.   The World Bank’s Economic Update for the region released on Sunday said the region’s economy is now forecast to shrink by 4.1 percent this year, compared with the pre-war forecast of 3 percent growth. The residence of the Commissioner for Justice and the Attorney General of Imo State, Cyprian Akaolisa has been razed down by gunmen. The gunmen also destroyed his father’s house in Obibi, Awo-Idemili, Orsu Local Government Area of the state. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, and former Ohio State standout Dwayne Haskins, has been  killed after being struck by a car. Haskins, who was set to turn 25 next month, was training with his team in South Florida when the fatal accident occurred early Saturday morning, his agent, Cedric Saunders, confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter. An interim ex parte order granting former governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, leave to travel to the United States of America to attend to his medical appointment has been challenged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.  The order was granted by Awka Division of the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa, on the grounds of denial of fair hearing.  EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement released on Saturday April 9, accused Obiano of attempting to arm-twist the anti-graft commission with the ex parte order.    It read;    "Available court documents indicate that Obiano had on March 11, 2022, ahead of his handover on March 17 filed a motion ex parte dated March 10, 2022, before Justice Nganjiwa praying among others, for an interim injunction stopping the EFCC from arresting or preventing him from travelling out of the country for his medical treatment. ‘’While the c...
