Former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that his target for Nigeria was to qualify the team for the quarter-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Rohr said this while reacting to Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff defeat to Ghana on Tuesday, March 29. Rohr was sacked as Super Eagles head coach by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, just a few weeks before the commencement of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon. The German was replaced by Augustine Eguavoen on an interim basis. However, Eguavoen resigned on Thursday, after Ghana defeated Nigeria in Abuja. The actor, who is facing possible expulsion or suspension, chose to resign instead. On Wednesday, March 30, the group said Will Smith had violated the Academy’s standards of conduct and that he had 15 days to provide a written response explaining his actions. The organization said Smith faced suspension, expulsion or other sanctions. Will Smith has now responded to the Academy. He issued a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday afternoon, April 1. Former footballer and Chelsea Football Club star, Ashley Cole is engaged to his model girlfriend Sharon Canu.  Cole took to Instagram to share the news alongside Sharon, who told fans she was celebrating the "easiest yes she'd ever said". Davido has featured in an official soundtrack for World Cup.  The Nigerian singer is part of a group of musicians who have put together the official soundtrack for the 2022 World Cup holding in Qatar. The song titled ‘Hayya Hayya’ (Better Together) also features American singers Trinidad Cardona and AISHA. His participation means he becomes the first Nigerian artiste to feature in an official FIFA World Cup final soundtrack. The award-winning artiste took to Twitter to make the announcement, tweeting, “I’m honored to be featured on the Official ?@FIFAWorldCup? 2022 Soundtrack ! See y’all later 2NITE ! This one is for Africa ! TULE!!!! WE RISE !”  

Russia has accused Ukraine of sending attack helicopters across the border to strike an oil storage facility in what would be the first raid on Russian soil since the outbreak of the war if confirmed. Ukraine has not confirmed that it launched the attack, raising questions about whether Russian negligence may be to blame. A Russian governor in the border region of Belgorod said that early on Friday April 1, two Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters crossed the border at low altitude before firing rockets at an oil facility 25 miles from the border. Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, said he could not confirm or deny reports of Ukrainian involvement in the strike as he did not have military information, Reuters reported. Iranian media reported that women were once again denied entry to a football stadium to watch an international match, leaving hundreds of ticketed fans stranded. Iran won 2-0 against Lebanon in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night at the Imam Reza stadium in Mashhad, in the northeastern city. "About 2,000 Iranian women who had purchased tickets for the Iran-Lebanon match were present on the Imam Reza stadium's perimeter but were unable to enter the stadium," according to the ISNA news agency.   "A total of 12,500 tickets were sold for this match, with 2,000 reserved for women," it added.
