  The first Nigerian female Vice Chancellor, Grace Alele-Williams is dead. Late Alele-Williams who was the first Nigerian woman to receive a Doctorate, died on Friday, March 25, at the age of 89. A professor of mathematics, late Alele-Williams made history as the first female Vice Chancellor at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Edo State. She was also the first Nigerian woman to receive a doctorate degree. Born in Warri, Delta state, Prof Alele-Williams attended Government School, Warri; Queen’s College, Lagos and the University College of Ibadan (now University of Ibadan). She obtained a master’s degree in mathematics while teaching at Queen’s School, Ede in Osun State in 1957 and her PhD degree in mathematics education at the University of Chicago (U.S.) in 1963, thereby making her the first Nigerian woman to be awarded a doctorate. Bandits have kidnapped the Catholic priest of St Ann's, Zango Tama in Guma Local Government Area of Kaduna State  Rev. Fr. Felix Zakari, was among those abducted by bandits during attacks on communities in Guma on Thursday, March 24. The Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Rev. Fr. Rihanna sent fans into a frenzy after the pregnant star was spotted shopping for baby clothes with a massive ring on her finger. The songstress is expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. Rihanna kept it casual as she stepped out to shop for baby clothes in Los Angeles over the weekend.   She wore a snug black t-shirt with a monster truck on the front. Her growing baby bump peeked out from the bottom of the shirt. The Umbrella singer shielded her face with a baseball cap that read, “Sex is safer than smoking,” and carried a Gucci purse on her shoulder.   It was a large ring she wore on her wedding ring finger that got the rumor mill going. A jury on Monday convicted a Tennessee man in the slaying of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, whose bullet-riddled body was found in a field nearly 12 years ago in his hometown of Memphis. The 12-person jury deliberated for about two hours before it found Billy Ray Turner guilty of first-degree murder, attempted murder and conspiracy in the death of Wright, a 6-foot, 11-inch center who played 13 seasons in the NBA before he retired after the 2008-2009 season. Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Lee Coffee sentenced Turner, 51, to life in prison for the murder conviction. He will be sentenced for the other charges at a later date. Coffee called Wright “a sacred son” of Memphis and told his mother, Deborah Marion, that the trial might not bring her closure but to “celebrate the good” about her son.   The slaying is one of the most highly publicized murder cases in Memphis history. Gennadiy Druzenko, the owner of a war-zone mobile hospital in eastern Ukraine has disclosed that he instructed his doctors to 'castrate' captured Russian soldiers.   Discussing captured injured Russian soldiers on Ukraine-24, Druzenko said: 'I have always been a great humanist and said that if a man is wounded, he is no longer an enemy but a patient."   'But now [I gave] very strict orders to castrate all [captured Russian] men, because they are cockroaches, not people.'   Since 2014, some 500 doctors - male and female - have worked with Druzenko's mobile hospital, Mail Online reported   A lawyer by training, he set up the First Voluntary Mobile Hospital which deploys civilian doctors and nurses in the conflict zone close to the separatist republics in eastern Ukraine.   He also told famous Russian TV host Yevgeny Kiselyov on the Ukraine-24 channel: 'Believe, all doctors who saved the patients - Russians will die here.
