  A Russian drone flew over Poland before entering Ukrainian air space where it was shot down, Ukraine’s military claimed in a statement.  The drone is claimed to have first circled over the Ukrainian city of Yavoriv before flying over Poland where it was in breach of Nato territory. In a statement the Ukrainian air force command said that the drone flew into Nato airspace, accusing Moscow of a “provocation”.   The Ukrainian Armed Forces said the drone appeared to be assessing damage caused to the Yavoriv military base near Lviv over the weekend after missile strikes killed at least 35 people, 24 TV reports.   It was then said to have flown over Poland before returning to Ukrainian airspace where it was shot down by the country's air defence.   A spokesperson for the Ukrainian forces said: "As we can see, the occupiers continue to carry out their provocative actions without hesitation, flying into the airspace of Nato member sta...

The White House has insisted that China will face 'significant consequences' if it sends military to aid to Russia after National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Monday held an 'intense' seven-hour meeting with Beijing's top diplomat.   However, Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to lay out President Joe Biden's red lines on what would trigger action, or describe what those consequences might be during the daily briefing.   'I think what we have conveyed and what was conveyed by our national security adviser in this meeting, is that should they provide military or other assistance that of course violates sanctions or, or supports the war efforts, that there will be significant consequences,' she said.   'But in terms of what the specifics look like, we would coordinate with our partners and allies to make that determination.'   National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met Yang Jiechi, a member of the Chinese Communist Party's...

Russian oligarch and Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich  has been spotted for the first time since he was sanctioned by the British Government.   The 55-year-old was seen in a VIP lounge at Ben Gurion airport, located in the city of Lod which is southeast of Tel Aviv, on Monday, March 14, shortly before a private jet linked to him was flown to Istanbul and landed in the Turkish city on Monday afternoon.   Last week, the British Government announced that Abramovich’s assets in the UK have been frozen as part of its sanctions against Russia due to his with ties with Vladimir Putin. Legendary wrestler Scott Hall a.k.a Razor Ramon has been confirmed dead, days after being placed on life support. The WWE star died at the age of 63 on Monday, March 14. His death was confirmed by fellow hall of famer and good friend, Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac. "He's gone." Waltman tweeted.     Waltman added;    "WWE is saddened to learn that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall has passed away.   The US Mission in Nigeria has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC over the arrest of suspected fraudster, Osondu Victor Iwgilo, who has been on the wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI.   A statement released by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson today March 14, says Igwilo, a suspect wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) since 2018, is the alleged leader of a criminal network of "catchers". He was arrested alongside Okafor Nnamdi Chris, Nwodu Uchenna Emmanuel, and John Anazo Achukwu at a studio in the Sangotedo area of Lagos.   In a tweet posted this afternoon, The US mission congratulated the EFCC for partnering with the FBI to arrest Igwilo.    

Jussie Smollett is being held in the psychiatric ward at a Chicago jail. The 39-year-old Empire actor, who is currently at the Cook County Jail after being sentenced to 150 days in prison for staging a hate crime, was put into the psych ward over concerns that he is a self-harm risk. His brother, Jocqui Smollett, who is angry about the development,  expressed outrage on Instagram, writing: "What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to the paperwork today, and it said on the front of his jail cell … that he is at risk of self-harm.     "I want to just make it clear to folks that he is in no way shape or form at risk to self-harm and he wants to let folks know that, that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is very healthy and ready to take on the challenge that ultimately has been put up against him.   "This is not right. William Hurt, the Oscar-winning star of "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "The Big Chill," and "Broadcast News," has died. He was 71. Gerry Byrne, Hurt's friend, confirmed the news of the actor's death to CNN. "It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father, and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday," the family said in a statement obtained by Variety. "He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time."   No cause of death was shared by the family. Hurt was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018.   His debut film role was in 1980, playing a scientist in the science fiction thriller  Altered States,  for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year.
