  Marilyn Manson has sued his former fiancee, Evan Rachel Wood for defamation over her sexual abuse allegations against him, which Manson claims are a "malicious falsehood."   In the complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday and obtained by  Variety , Manson whose legal name is Brian Warner  alleges that Wood and "her on-again, off-again romantic partner" Ashley Gore have "publicly cast" him as a "rapist and abuser,  a malicious falsehood that has derailed Warner’s successful music, TV and film career."   The filing goes on to claim that Wood and Gore impersonated a FBI agent "by forging and distributing a fictitious letter from the agent, to create the false appearance that Warner’s alleged ‘victims’ and their families were in danger, and that there was a federal criminal investigation of Warner ongoing."   It also alleges that Wood and Gore "provided checklists and scripts" to accusers and ...

Alan Ladd Jr., the Oscar-winning producer and studio boss, has died at the age of 84. Ladd died on Wednesday, his daughter Amanda Ladd-Jones, who directed the documentary  Laddie: The Man Behind the Movies , wrote in a Facebook post. No cause of death was given.   Ladd Jr., the son of  Shane  star Alan Ladd, started in the film business as his father's stuntman but rose to become one of its leading and most widely liked executives.   As studio head at Fox and MGM (twice), was involved in some 14 best-picture nominees, including  Young Frankenstein  (1974),  The Rocky Horror Picture Show  (1975),  Chariots of Fire " (1981), and  Blade Runner  (1982). Carlo Ancelotti could return to the Premier League as manager barely a year after leaving Everton. According to ESPN, Manchester United are considering Carlo Ancelotti as a short-term manager if they don't get their long term target this summer.  United have made Mauricio Pochettino their favoured candidate to take over from Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, but Ancelotti is seen as a backup option should the Argentine decide against taking the job.   The national assembly has rejected bills seeking to create special seats for women in the federal legislative arm of government and moving Value Added Tax (VAT) to the exclusive legislative list. While the bill proposing the inclusion of VAT on the exclusive list is titled “A Bill for an Act to Alter Part I of the Second Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to include Value Added Tax on the Exclusive Legislative List; and for Related Matters”, the Bill on Special seats for women is titled “A Bill for an Act to Alter the Provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to Provide for Special Seat for Women in the National and State Houses of Assembly; and for Related Matters”. Russian tennis star, Anastasia Potapova, has responded after Ukrainian opponent Elina Svitolina said she would refuse to play her amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
