A Turkish woman has been sentenced to five months in prison for  allegedly "insulting men" in a tweet that the court was told read "I don't like men".   Pinar Yildirim, a 34-year-old book author and influencer campaigning for women's rights, said it is shocking that she was being jailed for something that she didn't even write, which can be seen in the tweet, which is still online today.   She had tweeted to her 1.9 million followers, "I still like men" but the court was shown a tweet that reads, "I don't like men".   Pinar Yildirim's tweet after a statement by Turkish media authorities implied watching Netflix encourages homosexuality.   Yildirim said: "RTUK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) made a statement that Netflix content encourages homosexuality. Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford has revealed he stayed away from social media over the last few days as he was embarrassed by Sunday's 5 - 0 loss to Liverpool.  The Red Devils were thrashed with goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota followed up by a hat-trick from the in-form Mohamed Salah to seal off the commanding victory.  Taking to Twitter to break his silence, Rashford wrote: "I can't lie, you haven't heard from me onhere because as a United fan I didn't really know what to say after Sunday."  "I was embarrassed. I am embarrassed. Our fans are everything and you didn't deserve that. We're working hard to try and fix this. We have to redeem ourselves." United travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in the league before a midweek trip to Italy to face Atalanta in the Champions League. They then host Manchester City on Nov. 6.

Sudan's military coup leader, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has said the military seized power to prevent "civil war". Protests are continuing for a second day in the capital, Khartoum, with roads, bridges and shops closed, while phones and internet links are also disrupted and least 10 people are reported to have been killed after Sudan's military ousted it's civilian government on Monday, October 25 . The US, AU and UN have all called for the country's return to civilian rule. "The dangers we witnessed last week could have led the country into civil war,"  Abdel Fattah al-Burhan a news conference.   He added that the deposed Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok is being kept at the general's house "for his own safety" and would be allowed home soon. "The prime minister was at his house but we feared that he will be harmed and he is now with me in my house. "I was with him last night...and he is going about his life....

The Federal Government has begun the process for the valuation of properties belonging to several politically exposed persons, including the embattled former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.     Punch reports that the former Petroleum minister's property located in Banana Island Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, include 18 flats and six penthouses located at Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista, Plot 1, Zone N, Federal Government Layout. Other notable properties listed include those belonging to the late Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, whose houses in the Wuse 2 and Maitama high-end neighbourhoods of Abuja were seized. They include No. 14 Adzope Crescent, off Kumasi Crescent; 19 Kumasi Crescent, Wuse 2; and 6 Umme Street, Wuse 2. The Oyo state police command has detonated a bomb at Abolongo custodial centre, four days after the correctional centre was attacked by gunmen who freed hundreds of inmates.  It is speculated that the bomb was one of those planted by the criminals who attacked the centre last week Friday. Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Centre in the state, Olanrewaju Anjorin confirmed the development.  Anjorin said;    “It is true but police detonated the bomb after the officers of correctional centres discovered that there was explosive planted outside the facility."

Reality TV star, Gifty Powers, has responded to actress Etinosa who slammed her for hailing Davido. Gifty had on Sunday taken to her Instastories to celebrate singer Davido after he attended his son Ifeanyi's  birthday party. Etinosa felt Gifty's post was unnecessary and took to her Instastories to knock her. She wondered why a man should be praised for attending his son's birthday party. According to her, women are not celebrated for breastfeeding their babies. In a response shared on her Instastories this morning, Gifty said men should be celebrated because, without the sperm which the man carries, the ovary cannot be useful. She argued that it is not a sin to celebrate men who live up to their expectations, and asked Etinosa to stop being a 'nuisance.' The mum of two also stated that she is not a baby mama but a wife.
