Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been named Serie A’s Player of the Month for September following his blistering start to the 2021-22 season. The 22-year-old beat Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, AC Milan’s Brahim Diaz and Fiorentina’s Giacomo Bonaventura to the award organised by the Italian Footballers’ Association.   Osimhen recovered from his disappointing performance against Venezia in Napoli’s opening game of the season when he received a red card in the first half. The Nigeria international scored seven goals in six matches across all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side in September, which includes four Serie A goals.

A senior lecturer in the Department of English and Literature, Faculty of Arts, University of Benin has been accused of raping a female student in his office. The 400-level student was said to have gone to the lecturer’s office to submit her final year project when she was allegedly raped and locked in the office for several hours. The Punch gathered that the incident occurred on October 5, but became public knowledge when a video purportedly recorded when the lecturer was begging for forgiveness went viral. British heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has revealed he could go into depression when he finally retires from boxing. Fury is set to take on Deontay Wilder for a third time on October 9, in Las Vegas.  The two heavyweights fought first in 2018, where the result was a draw, and again in 2020, where Fury took home the WBC belt. Ahead of the fight, Fury discussed his motivations in the sport, and why he fights. "I'm not fighting to be the greatest of all time, I'm not fighting to be a legend," he told BBC Radio Five Live. A teenager is in custody after four people were wounded on wednesday morning, October 6, in a shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, authorities said. Three people were taken to the hospital, including a 15-year-old boy who underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition, police said.   A teenage girl suffered a minor injury and has been released. A 25-year-old man is said to be in good condition. An adult female, who is pregnant, was treated at the school and was not taken to the hospital. Police believe some of the victims were students. Two of them are believed to have been shot. The suspect was identified as student Timothy George Simpkins, 18. Simpkins fled the school after the shooting but turned himself in after getting an attorney. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Joe Biden's administration has revealed the number of nuclear weapons in the US stockpile for the first time in four years. In a reversal of the Trump era policy, the State Department released its "Transparency in the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Stockpile" fact sheet, which comes as the Biden administration is conducting a review of its nuclear weapons policy and capabilities ahead of a 2022 meeting of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty conference, where the US and other nuclear powers who are party to the Treaty will review each signatory's commitments to disarm. Emphasizing the importance of transparency, the US revealed that it has 3,750 nuclear warheads in its stockpile and 2,000 are waiting to be dismantled, according to a release from the State Department. A former porn actress has been arrested on suspicion of murder after she allegedly stabbed her two-year-old son to death and dumped his corpse onto a checkout counter in a Lidl supermarket in Italy.   44-year-old Katalin Erzsebet Bradacs was taken into preventive custody after being charged with murdering her son Alex Juhasz.  The former porn actress and nightclub dancer entered a Lidl supermarket in the small town of Citta della Pieve in the central Italian region of Umbria on Friday afternoon.  Bradacs, from Hungary, reportedly entered the supermarket shouting for help as she placed her son's bloodied body on top of a checkout counter. The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assented to the Administration of Criminal Justice (Amendment) Law of Lagos State, 2021. According to a statement on Tuesday by the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), the governor signed the law on September 30, 2021.
