  On Sunday, August 29, bodies of the 13 US service members killed Thursday, August 26 in Afghanistan by an ISIS-K terror attack, were flown to Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, where US troops who have died in Afghanistan have been buried the last two decades. Eleven Marines, one Army soldier and one Navy corpsman died, along with nearly 200 Afghans. Five of the dead came from California. The rest hailed from Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming  The fallen service members were killed while supporting non-combat operations in Kabul, Afghanistan after the Taliban swept into Kabul this month, taking over control of the Aghan government. Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuruonye has reacted to the allegations of scamming women on social media. Ezuruonye said his family members and friends have been trolled and harassed severally by people accusing him of fraud. The 38-year-old actor in an Instagram post noted that his impostors are those orchestrating such fraudulent activities. He vowed to take action on those peddling such allegations against him, adding that he would not stomach such like in the past. “Now I’m angry, to all those silly women who have been severally explained to that it ain’t me but impostors who scammed them and they go further trolling I, my family members, my friends, their Kids, I mean children, with steady insults,” he said. “I am done having compassion for you stupid lot, explaining sh!t. BBNaija season 6 housemate, Angel has said she cannot be in a relationship with any celebrity in the entertainment industry. Angel said this while having a conversation with Michael. The BBNaija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ housemate said she had messages in her DM on social media from celebrities in the industry but ignored them. A former communications minister in the Afghan government is now a delivery man in the eastern city of Leipzig after moving to Germany for a better life. Sayed Sadaat moved to Germany last December in the hope of a better future. He said some people back home in Afghanistan criticised him for taking such a job after having served in the government for two years, leaving office in 2018, Reuters reports. But the 49-year-old British-Afghan dual citizen said: "I have nothing to feel guilty about." He had quit the Afghan government because of disagreements with members of the president’s circle, he said according to Reuters. "I hope other politicians also follow the same path, working with the public rather than just hiding," he added. Former child actor Matthew Mindler, best known for his role in the 2011 comedy Our Idiot Brother, has been found dead three days after he was reported missing from his college in Pennsylvania. He was 19. According to the Millersville University police, Mindler, a freshman, was last seen on campus on Tuesday night after attending classes Monday and Tuesday. He was reported missing the following night on Wednesday, after failing to return to his dormitory room and skipping classes.  Police wrote in an Instagram post that Mindler was spotted walking from the West Villages residence hall toward the Centennial Driver parking lot at around 8.11pm on Tuesday.  His college, Millersville University, confirmed his death after releasing a statement on Saturday, August 28.  'It is with a grieving heart that I let you know of the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a first-year student at Millersville University,' the statement obtained ...

A US drone strike carried out overnight, Saturday August 28, has killed an Islamic State "planner", two days after the group claimed a deadly bombing outside Kabul airport. Among the 92 killed in Thursday's suicide blast, claimed by Afghanistan's Islamic State affiliate, were 13 U.S. service members, the most lethal incident for U.S. troops in Afghanistan in a decade. According to the Pentagon, there were no civilian casualties from the strike and US forces were prepared for more attacks from ISIS even as they continue to airlift people out of the war torn Taliban controlled Afghanistan.   "Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties," the U.S. military said in a statement, referring to the overnight drone strike.
