Operatives of the Enugu Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested 42 suspected internet fraudsters in separate operations in Awka and Enugu. Twenty-nine (29) of the suspects were arrested in Awka while thirteen (13) were arrested in Enugu following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud. A statement from the agency gave the names of the suspects as Chimezie Anyamutaku, Chinonso Dominic, Onyekachi Nwankwo,Ikenna Austin, Chinonso Anthony Caesar,Felix Okechukwu Chikagu, Dera Okoye, Victor Onyebuchi, Emmanuel Ifeanyi,Emeka Izu John, Raphael Gbughemobi,Okorie Charles,Onyeoji Chukwuemeka,Enem Bontis Obinna Udoka,Chibueze Udechukwu Ofor, Lawrence Oyegu, Soburu Kingsley, and Ikechukwu Umeakunne. Two police officers have been killed after bandits attacked the Izombe police station. A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Michael Abattam, says the bandits who arrived in their numbers could not gain access to the station due to the swift response of the ever-alert Imo Command's Tactical teams and Personnel of Operation Restore Peace of the command who intercepted and repelled the bandits.        ''The bandits who on sighting the police engaged them in a gun duel were subdued due to the superior fire power of the police. They fled into the bush and in the process three of the bandits were neutralisated and their arms one pump action gun with two rounds of live cartridges and one locally made double barrel pistol with two expended cartridges were recovered from them to the station  while others escaped into the bush with bullet wounds. Nigerian rapper, Blaq Bonez has recalled how his days in the university made him feel like a failure.  The rapper who revealed that he was an engineering student, said while others were getting As and having a future that looked bright, he was dropping mixtapes and hoping it got to public space.  Expressing gratitude for how far he has come, Blaq Bonez added that he almost got depressed and didn't know how he would have taken care of his mother if he wasn't successful in music.  He concluded by stating that his "serious friends" in school are also doing well in their respective fields.  See his tweets below.........  

A woman who accused rapper Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, of sexual assault during high school, has filed a lawsuit against the couple, alleging that they harassed and intimidated her while trying to convince her to change her story.   The case dates back to 1994, when Jennifer Hough, then 16, reported to the police that Mr. Petty, a 16-year-old she had known growing up in Jamaica, Queens had raped her after leading her into a home at knife point, the lawsuit says.    Mr. Petty was arrested that day and was charged with first-degree rape, and subsequently pleaded guilty to attempted rape, said Kim Livingston, a spokeswoman with the Queens district attorney’s office. Roma are considering signing Super Eagles star, Kelechi Iheanacho if they fail to sign Tammy Abraham this summer. Jose Mourinho is the new manager of AS Roma and has placed Iheanacho as his next target despite the Owerri born striker signing a new three-year contract with Leicester City in April . Roma have already agreed a £34million deal with Chelsea for Abraham, but the 23-year-old England international has asked for time to think about the offer as he doesn't want to rush into a deal.   A young golf prodigy has died in her sleep hours after being found sleepwalking. Elexis Brown, aged 13, passed away in her sleep having previously complained of feeling sick. The emergency services were called to Brown's home in Lincolnshire, England, early on Sunday morning, August 7, but Brown was unresponsive and passed away after being taken to a local hospital. Father Ben Peter described her as a "beautiful person" and the teenager's golf coaches also paid their own touching tributes. Ben Peter told Lincolnshire Live: "She went to bed as usual on Saturday night. She woke up sleepwalking and unfortunately had been a little bit sick. "We put her back to bed to make sure she's okay, as you would do as a parent. Brentford F.C celebrated their return to the English premier league after a 74-year absence with a memorable 2-0 victory over Arsenal as the 2021/2022 EPL season kicked off yesterday, August 13. Brentford were vibrant and energetic at the Brentford Community Stadium, teaching the Gunners the art of football in a  90 minutes game of football that was heartbreaking for any Arsenal fan.
