Former England striker, Paul Mariner, who won the FA Cup and Uefa Cup with Ipswich Town, has died aged 68. Mariner began his league career at Plymouth Argyle and also played for Arsenal and Portsmouth. He made his England debut in 1977 and played for his country at the 1982 World Cup. He made 35 appearances for England, scoring 13 goals.  His family says he died after battling brain cancer. "We regretfully inform you that Paul passed away peacefully on 9 July surrounded by his family, after a brief battle with brain cancer," said a statement from Mariner's family. "We would like to thank all the people who came to see him through his illness for their support and the messages that were sent to him; they meant a great deal to him and us.   The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been awarded by a charity for making the "enlightened decision" to have only two children. Population Matters gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the "Special Award", claiming the decision means they will reduce their impact on the environment by not having any more children. Harry disclosed this decision to have only two kids during a talk with chimpanzee expert, Dr Jane Goodall, for Vogue 2019, in which he described the Earth as "borrowed." He said: "Surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation." Population Matters, which campaigns for a sustainable population, said Harry and Meghan were being recognized as "a role model for other families." enegal international footballer, Khouma Babacar is currently recovering in a hospital after he collapsed during a training session on Thursday, July 8. His club in Turkey, Alanyaspor has confirmed he suffered heart spam in their pre-season camp in Burdur on Thursday. According to the club, the Senegal striker fell to the ground in training and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. “Our football player Khouma Babacar, who became ill this morning in the Burdur camp, was found to have had a heart spasm as a result of the first examinations made at the Burdur State Hospital,” A club statement read. “Further examinations and treatment of our football player will be carried out at Private Alanya Anadolu Hospital under the supervision of our club doctor Ismail Yetkin. Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has completed his medical ahead of his move to newly-promoted English Premier League club Watford, from Stoke City.  The Nigeria international, 25, spent last season on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions. The details of the contract have not been made known, but there are reports Etebo  will sign a permanent deal with the Hornets.   “It is true he (Etebo) has gone through his routine medicals at Watford but let’s wait for more official details about the deal, and that will be soon. It’s not a loan move,” our source said. Once the deal is completed, Etebo will become the fifth Nigerian at the club after William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Emmanuel Dennis.

  Joe Biden has staunchly defended his decision to completely withdraw troops from Afghanistan, saying the U.S. has achieved its objectives. The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, for over 20 years the US has fought and decimated Al Qaeda's control of the country forming the major basis for which Biden announced troop withdrawal. Since the troop withdrawal began this year, the Taliban forces in Afghanistan have been taking over territories with fears the country could become a safe haven for terrorist groups in the near future. But Biden insists that the United States had done more than enough to empower the Afghan police and military to secure the future of their people. Biden said he was not declaring “mission accomplished,” but he made it clear that Afghanistan’s fate was no longer in the hands of the American military. Bill Cosby has vowed to fight a civil lawsuit from a woman who claims he sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1964 following his release from prison.  The 83-year-old American comedian/actor, recently had his conviction for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 overturned because a prosecutor promised him that he wouldn't be charged in 2005, which the court said led him to incriminate himself.  Dozens of more women have accused him of sexual assault and harassment but their claims were not criminally prosecuted because they fell outside of the statutes of limitations in the states where the offenses allegedly took place.  After he was freed last week, women's rights attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference with some of Cosby's accusers (she represents 33 of them) and said she would fight to hold him accountable by suing him in civil court.      Among the people, she is representing is Judi Huth.
