Liberian President, George Weah says he is saddened by the death of founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet T.B. Joshua. Weah said Joshua greatly impacted in his life,The President said the Clergyman had impacted so many lives, including his, before Joshua’s passing on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the age of 57. Weah had come to value the spiritual guidance of the Televangelist ever since the 2017 visit and worship service he had with SCOAN’s congregation. At the time, TB Joshua called President Weah his “brother”, whom he said was “here today because he loves his country and wants God’s choice for his country… he is not here to impose himself”. He had also offered prayers for the Liberian nation and people. The President conveys his condolences to TB Joshua’s family, the Nigerian people, the church and all those around the world impacted by his loss. He urged them to take solace in the Lord Almighty.

The Federal Government has appointed former Super Eagles Captain, John Mikel Obi as Youth Ambassador to inspire young Nigerians to strive for excellence. The appointment which took place at the NOC secretariat, National Stadium, Surulere Lagos on Friday June 18, is another of the Minister’s initiatives geared towards driving a vibrant youth for national development.   The nose of a British Airways plane has collapsed while waiting at Heathrow. Dozens of ambulances, police cars and fire engines are at the scene of the incident, with the nose of the plane pictured on the tarmac of the London airport. No passengers were onboard the plane, which was on stand and due to operate as a freight service only. It is not clear if any staff were on board or if anyone was hurt in the incident. A witness told Metro.co.uk that emergency services arrived ‘within minutes’ of the nose collapsing and that the area is being cleared. British Airways said it is launching an investigation into the extent of the damage. A spokesperson for the company said: ‘A freighter aircraft has been damaged while stationary on stand. As a freighter only aircraft there were no passengers on board. ‘Safety is always our highest priority and we are investigating the matter.’ watch the video below

Former Emir of Kano and new caliph of the Tijaniyya sect in Nigeria, Muhammadu Sanusi II has reiterated that he has no intention of joining politics.  Speaking on Thursday June 17 in Kaduna, the former monarch said he will continue to educate the public on the right candidates to vote for during elections. He also maintained that priority should be given to education, especially for children before the country’s problems could be addressed.  Sanusi said;    “If we have those we trust who promised they will work for the betterment of the nation, then we can come together and help them – this is not politics. “If we did not educate our children to become successful, while other people send their children to schools, they will end up working for those ones that attend school and that’s the end."

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a teenager, Suluka Abimbola, 16, her boyfriend, Oluwaseun Daniel Olajide, 25 and two others for conspiracy and self-kidnapping.  According to a statement released by ASP Abutu Sunday, spokesperson of the state police command, on June 16, one Bolaji  Femi of Bawa Estate, Ado-Ekiti, went to New Iyin Divisional Police Headquarters and reported that her sister, one Suluka Abimbola left home for School at Christ School, Ado-Ekiti, on 15/06/2021 and did not return home. US President Joe Biden on Thursday signed the “Juneteenth National Independence Day Act,” officially establishing Juneteenth – June 19 as a federal holiday in the US. “I regret that my grandchildren aren’t here, because this is a really, really, really important moment in our history,” Biden said prior to signing the bill into law. And with the stroke of many pens, President Biden signs into law the #Juneteenth bill — making the day a federal holiday. The Senate passed the bill unanimously, only 14 House Republicans, many representing states that were part of the slave-holding Confederacy, opposed it.
