  North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un has admitted his hermit country is facing food shortages. Speaking at the plenary meeting of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim who blamed the food shortage on last year's typhoon and floods, said 'the nation was experiencing a tense food situation," Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports. Already facing strict sanctions from the United Nations, North Korea has cut itself off from the rest of the world, shutting it's borders to even friendly nation China as Kim claims he's protecting his nation from the covid-19 pandemic. Speaking at his party's meeting,  Kim said the conditions and environment that North Korea was facing "have become worse upon entering this year," even though its economy has, on the whole, shown improvement. Disgraced R&B star, R. Kelly's home in Atlanta where women were allegedly held against their will has reportedly been sold.  Documents obtained by TMZ showed that the house the singer usually rented in Metro Atlanta, was sold on June 3. Folks who work for Fulton County where the home is located, told the publication that the house was sold for $1,785,000. According to the  Surviving R. Kelly  docu-series, the house was where the singer kept members of his alleged sex cult and in some cases, it is claimed that the women were held there against their will.     Some of the women claimed they were forced to call him "Daddy," and had to ask permission for everything from bathroom breaks to meals. Gennaro Gattuso has left Fiorentina just 23 days after accepting the job to become the new manager. The 43-year-old manager was announced as the new Viola coach on May 25, following his departure from Napoli - where he failed to guide his side to the Champions League. Gattuso was set to officially take over on July 1 ahead of the new season and had already started discussions over transfer plans at the club.   Ikeja High Court has sentenced Francis Atuche, a former Managing Director of the defunct Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) to six years’ imprisonment for defrauding the bank of N25.7 billion. In a 10-hour judgment, Justice Latifat Okunnu also sentenced Ugo Anyanwu, a former Chief Financial Officer of the bank to four-year imprisonment. The judge held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission proved beyond reasonable doubt that the convicts committed fraud. Okunnu, however, discharged Atuche’s wife Elizabeth, who was facing trial alongside the duo.

    Five management staff of Sokoto state Primary Staff Pension Board have been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly diverting N553.985,644.1. The suspects identified as Abubakar Aliyu, Hassana Moyi, Haliru Ahmad, Kabiru Ahmad and Dahiru Muhammad Isa who are Secretary, Director of Finance and Supply, deputy Director of Finance and Supply, Accountant and Cashier of the board respectively, were accused of diverting the money meant for payment of retired teachers’ gratuities and pension. The suspects who were accused of forging vouchers, withdrawing and sharing the money, were arraigned before the Sokoto High Court on 28 count-charge bordering on forgery, criminal breach of trust and misappropriation, which are contrary to sections 92 (2), 311, of the Penal Code law CAP 89, Laws of Northern Nigeria and Sections 351, 353, 348 of the Sokoto Penal Code law 2019. The Nigerian Navy has announced plans of establishing its Desert Warfare Institute in Kano. The decision was taken after Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo received a request from Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to ensure the presence and visibility of Nigerian Navy in the state. Real Admiral COR Ezekobe, Chief of Policy and Plans for Nigerian Navy, disclosed this when he led a delegation to Governor Ganduje at his office in Kano on Wednesday June 16. He and other delegates were reportedly at the Governor's office to brief him on the development so far.     Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen . According to reports, Mr. Eguma was kidnapped in Enugu on his way from Gombe State where his team lost to Adamawa United on Sunday. “The coach did not return with the team on Tuesday but that’s all I can tell you. We hear he has been kidnapped but we are waiting to hear officially from the club management,” a source close to the coach, who spoke to The PUNCH on condition of anonymity, said.
