Transatlantic security alliance, NATO for the first time has warnes China in its communique following it's summit in Brussels on Monday, June 14. NATO confronted China’s military ambitions for the first time, saying Beijing presents “systemic challenges” for the transatlantic security alliance.   The communique marks a diplomatic victory for US President Joe Biden, who had urged the 30-member strong alliance to stand up to China’s burgeoning military, political and economic might. The language by the alliance will now set the path for alliance policy and comes a day after the G7 nations slammed China in a statement, calling the country out for it's alleged human rights abuses in China and Hong Kong. “China’s stated ambitions and assertive behaviour present systemic challenges to the rules-based international order and to areas relevant to alliance security,” NATO’s 79-point communique said. Football star, Yaya Toure has been appointed as assistant manager of Russian Premier League side, FK Akhmat. The ex Barcelona and Manchester City star, now 38, began his coaching career at Ukrainian side Olimpik Donetsk. Following his spell there he has now been handed a one-year deal that will see him at the Akhmat Arena for the 2021-22 campaign.The four-time African Player of the Year winner is now expected to assist Andrei Talalayev in the dugout. “Former footballer Yaya Toure has joined the coaching staff of the Thunderbirds. Unknown gunmen have shot and killed a footbal coach identified as Torkuma Chihe Promise in Makurdi, the Benue state capital. It was gathered that the deceased popularly known as Coach Mboma was shot dead by the assailants at Asese 1, North-Bank, Makurdi on Sunday evening, June 13. A Facebook user, Kingsley Terkimbi Usongo, said he spoke to the deceased same day he was murdered. "Rest in peace my brother coach Mboma Torkuma Promise Chihe. I spoke with u early yesterday, requesting you to take ur phone to my mom so I could speak with her. I guess I was the first person's voice u heard yesterday. It's unfortunate that u couldn't end the day as you were shot dead later in the evening of yesterday, 13/06/2021. The vigilante group known as Bakassi Boys has returned to the South East years after the group was disbanded. The group was seen going around in Awka in two vans, singing and warning criminals, DailyTrust reports. A source told the publication: "The boys came mainly for alleged cult groups which have taken over Awka town in recent time without any response from the Police. I think they were invited by traders." When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ikenga Tochukwu, said he was not aware of the development, according to the publication. The PPRO, however, said that the police is ready to work with any stakeholder in security. A Senior Police Officer, who spoke to DailyTrust on condition of anonymity, said some security men arrived at the state, but failed to confirm if they were sent by the government. A Nigerian man named Echezonachukwu O. Obianefo, 23, has been arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly stealing a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which is valued at around $300,000. Obianefo, of Houston, Texas, United States, is being held in the Harris County Jail in Houston and his bail was set at $50,000. Obianefo is the manager of Osita Links and Logistics Group LLC, which provides transportation services. The freight shipping trucking company, owned by Mary Obianefo,  was incorporated on April 8, 2021, and is based in Houston. The owner of the vehicle allegedly stolen, Echezonachukwu, is a resident of Florida, USA, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s office. It is not clear whether the vehicle was stolen in Houston or in Florida. The date when the alleged crime was committed was not announced.

  CNN Journalist Christiane Amanpour on Monday announced that she has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The veteran journalist, who took to her Twitter page to share a clip of the announcement, said she decided to make public disclosure of her health condition in the interest of transparency. The sexagenarian further disclosed that she will undergo chemotherapy for some months as she continues to battle the disease. “…Like millions of women around the world, I’ve been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I’ve had successful major surgery to remove it and I’m now undergoing several months of chemotherapy for the very best possible long-term prognosis and I’m confident,” Ms Amanpour said. Ms Amanpour who have been absent from her hosting duties at CNN for the past four weeks as a result f the diagnosis said that ovarian cancer is a common disease affecting millions of women around the world. Chrissy Teigen has returned to social media to apologize for bullying several people on Twitter. Chrissy announced in March that she was leaving Twitter because it was bringing out the worst in her. She returned to the platform 3 weeks later. Later, TV personality Courtney Stodden accused Chrissy of online bullying. The bullying happened in 2011 when Chrissy was 25 and Stodden was 16. Chrissy had sent Stodden a message, urging them to take their own life. Teigen published a series of tweets in May apologizing to Courtney Stodden.  Stodden accepted the apology but said it could just be an attempt to limit damage to Teigen's reputation. Chrissy Teigen has now published a blog post where she apologized for her "old awful awful tweets.  The US model reflected on "the crushing weight of regret for the things I've said in the past" and promised to do better.
